And, "it was an annoying day" won by a landslide.

First thing this morning, my hair dryer died without so much as a whimper. It was a nice purple hair dryer. That was the first hair dryer that could actually dry my (long and naturally curly) hair in just a few minutes, and it was purple. It did have a good life of several years...did I mention it was purple? My house mate went to wal*mart at 6:30 a.m. to get a replacement. The house mate was annoyed(mainly because they had been sleeping), but willing to go to wal*mart. The new one is the same brand, same wattage, same model no., but it's silver and has an ionizing switch. I have no idea whether to ionize my hair or not.

I managed to get out the house on time for my morning commute of twenty miles. The drive was okay, for once. The news on the radio was a bit annoying...discussion of the Pledge of Allegiance on NPR. Walked into the store and a discussion about annoying car problems and shopping for another car. If you were here a couple of years ago, you probably ran across my sentiments on car salespeople.

By this point I was wondering if it was me being a bit cynical, grouchy, etc. I didn't feel particularly picked on by the universe. Now, if the hair dryer had shocked me, it was my car in the shop or I had been late to open the store for either of those reasons, the universe would be under some serious scrutiny. For a second opinion I asked a co worker what they thought about the morning. She didn't have time to answer, the lady a few feet away turned around and said "Yes! I must've woken up on the wrong side of the bed". The co worker had to answer the phone at this point. A couple of minutes later I hear "About that question, yes...definitely."

To be fair, there was a bit of good news. As it involves someone else, I don't want to post it without their permission.

Things got noticeably better the minute I got home... Funny, how that works My evening is about average: cooked dinner, laundry, a little reading... nothing spectacular.
