This was kind of a fun dream.....

I dreamed that there was an old mansion not far from where I live, with wrought-iron gates and fountains outside. I was told that the house was where Sigmund Freud lived and saw his patients. Despite his great age, he was still taking new patients, so I booked an appointment with him.

Unfortunately, I was ten minutes late for my first appointment with him. He met me at the door, and said that something had come up, and he couldn't see me then. He proceeded to walk out in front of his house to where a crowd had gathered, and began doing magic tricks.

Now that I could see him in the sunlight, I noticed that he ahd darkened his hair,. so peopoe wouldn't realize how old he was.

I had one last night in which I was playing the organ, and having trouble with unfamiliar music books.

I recognised a tune, and started playing it, but the lyrics read: 'Don't you hate it when dreams make no sense?'

True.

Actually, Sigmund Freud in my dream was dignified, warm, and helpful. So many people in my real life are needy, illogical, and volatile. I'll take my dream-Freud over them any day/night.

Okay, so I tend toward transference.

No. Just the magician's black cape and top hot.

Well that killed my hopes of a Freudian slip pun.

The slip may still in the bottom of the hat.

Well, it was like this, doc:

It was a dark and stormy night on the sunny beach of No Bikini Atoll, and the flying fish were playing, when into the valley rode the 600, with guns to the right of them, and then I saw the Congo, snaking through the black, but I think that I shall never see a poem lovely as a tree, which grows in Brooklyn.

My missus took my photo on Freud's bronze couch outside his birth house, now a museum, in a small town someplace in the now Czech Republic - then it was in Moravia. That's near Bohemia. A 13th century gold rush in the Old Father Mountains brought many Germans to the area. They settled.
I've also been to Freud's surgery in Vienna, also a museum. There was there an exhibition of paintings by the Gugging artists - a pioneering mental hospital in the Vienna Woods. Old Freud left suddenly on the night train to Paris to escape the Nazi menace. He ended up in England where he died from cancer of the lip caused by smoking a pipe. He loved dogs.
I don't suppose any of this helps you to understand your dream unfortunately.

Ironic he died from smoking a pipe when his most quoted remark
concerned a cigar. Oddly enough I saw a Star Trek episode this
evening where Data uses Freud to psychoanalyze himself. Freud
was smoking a cigar in the scene.

Maybe it was cigars. I'm not pedantic on this. Cause of death anyway: Regular consumption of poisonous substances found in tobacco.
