I was offered a new job today, a promotion of sorts. It was totally unexpected - in fact when I was called into my boss's office I thought I was going to be told off for something!
I haven't accepted yet, though I'm pretty keen for the change and the hefty payrise.
I'm not meant to tell anyone really, but broadcasting the news on the BBC doesn't count, does it?

Nah ... nobody's gonna see it here!
Congrats, PF!
I guess all those late night freezer runs have paid off!

Thanks!
It's my years of hard work and application... apparently I'm highly-thought-of by certain people in high places.
I'm amazed to have such a swift reply to a journal posting! Nice to know someone reads it occasionally.

I just discovered how to subscribe to people's journals! Now I don't have to check people's homepages!
It's nice to know that hard work occasionally pays off ... and I guess the random butt-kissing pays off too.

(How do you subscribe to journals, then? I've always wondered why there isn't a 'Subscribe to this Researcher's Journal button.)

when you are in someone's journal if you scroll down to the bottom of the page there is an option to 'be notified of new discussions about this entry' or something to that effect... at least it's on the bottom of the page in frames, i'm not sure where it would be in no-frames format. at any rate, you have to actually be reading something in someone's journal to subscribe to new entries in that journal
a button would be a nice feature suggestion tho, if i could only remember where the feature suggestion page is...
congratulations on the offer! it's nice to get recognition every once in awhile. what have i gotten for all my hard work and dedication? i get to work on the holiday thursday and i'm probably going to lose my vacation this month

Poor broe!
I've gotten the chance to work every Christmas and New Year's Eve, and no raise for over a year!

I've felt unappreciated for long enough, but it seems there are people in the business who recognise my talents (whatever they may be!).
The person who has offered me this job tells me that he actually enquired as to my availability about a year ago, but my then boss told him that I wasn't keen to move... It'd have been nice I'd been asked about that!

I don't check people's PS often enough. so was doing a bit of wandering thru my fiends and aquaintences and stumbled across this piece of good news.
Well done PF! Goncratuclations!

It would only let me subscribe to *that* conversation, but not the journal as a whole...
Thanks anyway, broe!
Not sure I can take any more tonight, I've had plenty of already!
