Funninly i have drunk there and I think on non-trek nights (and presumably during the day), it's quite a solid little boozer. Remember, it's sandwiched betwqeen New Scotland Yard and a big Crown Court so not too many takers for Trek lunacy...

Hmm, in that case I might just venture forth. I seem to remember from conversations in the Fitzroy that's it's Saturday that's really Trekkie.

If it is horrible there is another boozer round the back of Middlesex Crown Court that is quite nice...otr it was last time I weas there about ten years ago.
Just don't be tempted to go up Whitehall - it's nasty.

Well, there is a pub at he bottom of Whitehall called the red Lion. It's one of those 'No workemen' type of pubs. Full of chinless wonder civil servants.
To get to decent pub in Whitehall you have to go all the way up to the Lord Moon on the mall, which you will recall from various meets, I'm sure. Wetherspoons pub, though, so cheap and decent beer...

All Nottingham's got going for it a decent alternative scene, both in terms of clubs and shops. You've got that in London though. Nottingham city centre is nasty because there's no many pubs- what there is instead is coffee shops *pretending* to be pubs. They've got pub-type signs hanging outside, names like 'The laughing Monk', the works. It's only when you get close enough to look inside that you realise it's a cruel joke.
There's some nice fountains there, too. And a lot of beggars...

Well, I'll not be off there then. Sounds abit like large parts of Chelmsford - that has cr*ppy glass pubs that hold ten people and serve noxious beer...

I only ever go there to go to Rock City- the last time I saw the place in daylight was two years ago.
It's got for shopping, compared to other twosn and cities near here, but there's no real pull for someone near London. Unless you're particularly interested in watching tram systems being built.
btw, I seem to have panicked Mina- she left a rather odd message on my space, re: the quote in my name

I *liked* that. And there are now at least three conversations on site where people appear top be randomly asking me about my breasts, apropos of nothing.

Young lady? What, where?
Personally, I reckon I've got an outer and possibly, hiding somewhere and quaking, an inner
