Part of the fun of the Baker years was the ramshackle charm he brought to the part. Did you see him in 'Strange' a couple of weeks ago? Hilarious...

Ramshackle charm? Is that another waying of saying that half the time he looked half-cut, and the rest of the time he was too busy eying up the women to remember his lines?

No, I missed it. I keep missing Strange, for some reason smiley - erm

You did indeed see a smiley - smooch this surprises you? Our convos are littered with the things. I believe smiley - winkeye is the most commonly seen one though smiley - winkeye

Jealous B? smiley - smooch. There. Now you've no need to be...

Well, obviously I never spotted it as a child, but as an adult it seems very obvious that Mr Baker wasn't always entirely concentrating on the job in hand, so to speak...

No, he wasn't. Constantly looking for excuses to touch Lalla up. And Louise Jameson, which is odd, as they're both on record as saying they didn't have a particularly good working relationship.

nounce??? Do you mean nous?

I never particularly wanted to set one up. It just fell under the category of 'pleasant surprise'.

No dear, I mean nounce. It's a local word for canniness. Which probably isn't a word, but you know what I mean.

Sorry, I watched the whole of Sapphire and Steel back to back yesterday. I think I fried something in the brain department.

Mayhap constantly touching her up is one of the reasons they didn't have a particularly good working relationship...

One of the funniest instances of that I have ever seen is a ST out-take of Deforest Kelly and Majel Barratt in hysterics as he takes advantage of running about in a 'meteor storm' to grab himself several handfuls...

smiley - laugh There's a scene in The Seeds of Death, where Mr. Baker just randomly grabs LIz Sladen's chest. He's supposed to be excited about something, and rather than grabbing her shoulder or whatever, he lunges forward with both hands....
