One of the very few benefits for working for a chronically underfunded organization.
Though on the downside our stationary cupboard is now locked except for one hour a day, meaning I have to anticipate, within a very narrow window, what my stationary needs will be on a day to day basis...

We have a very large stationary room, into which any one can wnder as and when they please and help themselves. I can't remember the last time I actually bought envolopes, or staples (or a stapler, come to that) or any other stationary...

Yes and no. When it comes to nonsense like that yes, but otherwise I am lucky enough to be part of management's cabal of drinking cronies so we do get a lot of the news first, albeit over a and a sandwich of a Friday lunchtime...

We have a similar arrangement here. Most people say, if you want to know what's going on, ask a smoker. The smoking hut is the only place on the whole premises where you can chat freely... It's amazing what you learn.
