One of the few advantages of working for the civil service is knowing that the IT department (or whatever bunch of clowns we've contracted the job out to) couldn't find it's arse in the dark without a torch and a roadmap.

Hmmm, it's all right for some. We have a team of four pretty dam,n good guys, fortunately they are busy, wasters and piss heads in equal turns, so I reckon I'm fairly safe.

Right that's it, I'm off to the hut on the hill before dad starts nattering again. His pills have finally kicked in after three months today, and he's like his constantly pissed- insanely happy and talkative. I prefer him depressed, at least he's fairly quiet then.

It has the odd hiccup, so far the longest they've been down since they were fitted some 18 months ago is about five hours...

They very cleverly took out a lot of features that encourage people to do stupid things that lead to system failures, to be honest.
i didn't like it at the time, but I can see the sense now.

We're like that at this end. The problems come when IT start *playing* in an attempt to 'improve' a perfectly good set-up
