You know how when you think you've seen everything... and then you haven't cos you see something that makes your jaw drop or your eyes pop out on stalks?
I was standing at the bus stop after work on... Sunday I think, and I saw it. A stretch pickup It looked for all the world like a stretch limo - white paint job, tinted glass, boomerang tv aerial on the roof, except it was a pickup with the open loading space on the back
A redneck's dream car

There's some bizarre limos around here too - I've seen a picture of the "Stars and Stripes" version - bizarre!

Even in NE England there's a growing number of 5litre Ford 150s. Gas costs £4.60 per gallon!

Tasteful
A stretch Trabant Someone in Austin owns a Trabant - I used to see it almost every day when we lived on 35th Street.

There was a Renault dealership back in my old home town who had a bit of fun modifying a couple of Renault 4s.
They cut the back ends off of them and stuck the fronts together, giving a stretch double-header Renault. Two engines and gear boxes, one at either end. Two steering wheels and sets of controls and all four wheels could steer
Then they went and painted it the brightest shade of canary yellow they could find.

I saw a stretch Subaru once.
But I'm not going to go to Texas to see this stretch
pickup, Gosho! I don't care if Texas is the only place
that has one.

A blacksmith friend of mine has just bought a beautiful 4litre V6 Ford Explorer Automatic SUV 4X4. A used motor which has been converted to run either on propane gas or gasoline. He goes to France often for his holidays.
The other day I was in my bottled gas suppliers and in rolled a Chevroler recreational vehicle with 7 litre engine. I have never seen so many US built vehicles on the UK roads. Around US military bases yes, but elsewhere, no. We're talking provincial UK here not big city slick!

Streeeeeeech Hummers! That is a huge beast to stretch!
You may be seeing 5000lb plus vehicles more. There is a huge tax break for you if you by something that big. They are harder on the roads and have more gas consumption. The government is giving a big bonus (tax break)if you buy.
Hubby needs a truck for work. He has always made do with a small truck. Very efficient to run! Now that he needs another we almost have to buy a 5000lb vehichle with the tax break, to afford one!

He(we) gets "a break" the environment does not in this deal
Millions of the gas guzzlers will be sold.

The environment has no ego.
I have.
I want a Hummer.

I toyed with the idea of renting a stretch electric-blue VW Beetle as a wedding car, but it would have clashed with my color theme.

TEXAS IS A BIG STATE

The bit that I don't understand is why the tax break for buying a vehicle bigger than you need? It just doesn't seem to make any sense.
