I thought you couldn't get a cheque book until you were 18?

I can't even get a switch card until then...just a stupid cash card that I haven't as yet filled out the paper work for

If you'd like some practice Clelba, you can make a cheque out to "Cash" and send it to me! It'd be a real thrill getting that cancelled cheque in the post! smiley - biggrin

A bunch of young girls came into the store at the weekend - I swear they couldn't have been more than 15 years old, and they all had their own credit cards. Maybe they were older, maybe you need a driving licence before you can get a cc or a bank account, but they sure as hell didn't look old enough to have either. I know there were a few friends of mine in sixth form (16/17) who had bank accounts. I didn't get my first one until I was 25, and that was a business account. I got a personal account a few years later. I've never had a credit card, but I had an American Express card for about 10 years before I came here. They're great because you have to cough up the wedge at the end of the month.

I've been trying the past couple of days to make head nor tail of the forms the bank gave me to fill in so I can set up a bank account and get a card for the cash machine.

I've only got about £500 in savings but can only ever get to £50.

And I can't even get a charge card until I'm 18.

Probably a good thing.

I wouldn't trust me with a charge card, I'd probably lose it.
