2nd or 15th July please, as I'm not w*rk*ng then. That's why I couldn't make the winter meet. Last day of Sale, so didn't finish until 20:00. . That's 2 years I've missed.... So one of those two dates would be brill......

A quick check here: http://www.londonnet.co.uk/ln/out/music/rockpopticketsbydate.html reveals that the 9th July might be a bad idea if we are going to have the Hyde Park picnic bit. REM play there live. I just thought I'd check. Of course, in the true h2g2 tradition of meets in the past, that should be the weekend to go for!

I vote for the 2nd but the 15th is good too.

July 2 sounds good to us - just found out we can get a return flight that week for 40 euros!!! Problem is we'd have to book by Monday . . .

Was there a reason why the 25th of June isn't also an option? I just realized I may not be able to get away the first weekend of July because of work obligations.

I believe we've had objections to June dates in the past from students doing exams. Certainly there are still A levels going on in the few days after the 25th, but not many. Not sure about uni exams. I don't know how many potential attendees it might affect though.

I can't remember if I 'voted' or not, but 2nd July is the best date for me.

Especially as I might be able to have house guests again on that date, but not on any other.

You will probably have to count me out. I have a Significant Birthday at the beginning of July and if H has organised a Significant Event, we will be unable to go.

If H hasn't organised a Significant Event then I will be doing time for murder.

So is July 2 the official date? I'll still try to make it, though as I say, it will now have to be a last-minute thing (depending on work) so I won't be able to book flights ahead of time but still might find a good last-minute deal.

Ryanair has just started a direct Seville-Stansted flight, so there is still hope.

In fact, the July 2nd date looked good to me until I realized I might have new tenants arriving on July 1st, so I would have to be here in that case. If something else happens between now and then (for example, a present tenant or two decides to stay on for July) then there won't be any problem.

It seems late June isn't good for uni students and mid-July might conflict with other researcher's summer holiday plans, so I'll just see what I can do about the July 2nd date.

Shame I can't book my flights now though as there is an offer from Ryanair for 40 euros return! Ah well . . .

I would very much like to come to the summer meet, but I do need a definite date. Any weekend in June would be fine, July or August would give problems.

I seem to recall that last year we had two possible dates, with their own conversation threads in which to vote and then the date with the most votes won.

Good idea, I think its about time to start making concrete or at least alaminium or perhaps plaster of paris plans We could organise a vote again, after I advertise a bit more to get more people involved so its more democratic? I'll get a meet page stuck together to give me something to link to, then can get a conversation or two off that for the voting, who did the ocunting up last time it wasn't me, I cna't count might* have to wati till monday afore ai can do much as I'm either away at the meet this weekend or being descended apon by a train driver
