From reading what Skelly's written here so far, and how Jinx and Greebo are writing about them, Skelly must be male.
I'm not sure what has happened that he suddenly disappeared, but if he's only half as determined as he seems to be from his writings, he won't return. And that's a good thing for you, because if he did, he would most certainly attack you immediately
