It's the last big needle injection today, which is 28 days since I left hospital and I had the first English strawberries (bought in the market)with my porridge for breakfast

Managing very well with one crutch Still need help putting my compression socks on, but can take them off OK. Today I put some blonde bits in my hair and started to plan a trip to Ireland as soon as I've seen the surgeon. I've lost 2lbs this week so am nearly back to pre-op weight. Polyanna is my middle name.

I put on the new soft shoes I was given as part of my get-well present and tied the shoe laces BY MYSELF. This is the first time for over two years - I've been using elasticated laces and velcroed slip ons.

Hip hip hurray

or on the way there at least. A fortnight tomorrow since my posh new hip was fitted. Today was the first day for well over a year that I have not taken ANY painkillers.
The Spearcarrier put a new waterproof dressing on for me so that I could have a proper shower and wash my hair. He has fixed the bannister, fitted some grab handles, extra bright lights on the landing and in the bathroom and filled the gaps in my 300 year old kitchen floor with wood filler. Also did some delicious cooking and useful shopping for me. At least one of his friends finds himself looking after elderly parents, driving from one end of the country to the other. Good job laptops etc keep them in touch with their places of work. who obviously did something right when it counted.

Not really a dance yet

Needs a bit more work on the choreography. Before the op we were taught the hilarious trick of putting knickers on with a grabber (class of elderly making like Superman with their pants over their trousers) It's even sillier pulling up Tena lady pants.
I was thinking of going back to my youth and commando under the long skirt. Good job I didn't try it. I'll be making a fair contribution to the landfill by the time I'm done.
I know it's supposed to take years off you but why am I being deluged with pop-up ads for Tampax?
