No chance of a break round here! I'm leading two nature camps on Thursday and Friday nights, which involve about three hours of sleep a night and a large amount of time teaching the kiddies how to explore nature. I've got plenty to catch up with before, both at work and with other stuff, so the next lie-in on Sunday will be very welcome

How many people does it take to demolish a settee?
The answer is: Two females who are totally useless, to cuss and swear because they can't saw it up, one huge blister who decided to come along just to prevent more cutting with scissors One male friend who also cussed and swore, it seems trying to cut up a settee with a tenet saw is a daft idea One borrowed wood saw and the job is done. Time spent - around 2 hours. Thats the last time i will attempt anything like that
Enjoy your 'Wild night out'

Did you see spring watch lastnight?
I was interested to see that they could'nt find any frogs, it explains why i have no frogs in my garden this year

I did, yes; I'm going to try to keep track of it, though I'm working most evenings, so it won't quite be 'live' round here Why do they always send Simon off to the coldest place they can imagine?
Bovey Heath will be on it one day, I think next week, so keep an eye out for that
It's good to see the badgers are being as elusive as ever...

I have a theory as to why they send Simon to the cold places. He gets to spend weeks in the Serengetti (scuse spelling) doing the 'Big cat diary' Its retribution for all that sun!!
I'm not sure that Bill should be showing off his paunch quite so much either
I'll keep an eye out for the heath....and anyone wearing dodgy trousers

Oh, I'm not in it. I got bored of them wanting to fifty takes of everything, and wandered off to avoid them for the rest of the day

But just think of the opprotunities it could bring
You could grow the long beard like Bellamy and the paunch like Bill, go to cold places and smell otter pooh! What more could a person want!

I'm just trying to catch up with Springwatch now! Problem with an hour-long programme is that if you miss a day, you have find two hours the next day to get back on track Wish Bill would shut up about the 'local patch', he's starting to overdo it a bit now...

Do i detect a car maintenance course coming on?
Not having a car i can still imagine how annoying it must be to find yourself without transport. - especially in your case, with so many place to be.
I hope you can get it fixed soon

The eejits at the garage were meant to come and pick it up today, but they didn't and by the time I phoned they had all gone home
Right in peak bird surveying season too. I'm also trying to find a way to get to Exeter in time for a volunteering afternoon at the biological records centre.

I hope you will be giving them some verbal when you get hold of them. Typical yokels...only working half a day!
Maybe you could get a train to Exeter?
Herb Robert and little Robin
Skankyrich [?] Posted Jun 4, 2006
I'm sure they'll be on to it 'dreckly'
There is a train that would get me there in time, but unfortunately it leaves 35 minutes before I'm scheduled to finish work! One of the girls is coming in an hour early for me, though, so it's all sorted out now. Not driving means I'll have chance of a with some of the guys from the Trust afterwards, as they have a dull-sounding team meeting in the afternoon that might leave them a little parched.

Skankyrich [?] Posted Jun 6, 2006
They came and picked the car up yesterday, but still haven't told me what's wrong with it. Buggers.
Yes, I'd love to see the pics of your orchids I got a load of tiny pond plants today, the box included parrot feather, which has been left on the lawn to die. I'm just about to go round the meadow with my key; there's a couple of new things sprouted up
Key: Complain about this post
