Well, next time I'm up, we'll have to find somewhere that does tournedos rossini; you'll be putting your crackers away for good
I really need to get out there in the garden and do some work, though. Perhaps not just now!

Tournedos rossini, is that Italian?
How is the level of the pond looking. has it dropped anymore?
Herb Robert and little Robin
Skankyrich [?] Posted Sep 20, 2006
Yes, it's Italian, and the absolute best way to cook a really good steak
The pond level is low, and keeps dropping; I'm worried about the plants, but can't do much until I establish if it's leaking from the same hole that's been fixed several times already. I have to admit it's starting to get a little frustrating...

Ah, i thought by the name it was Italian. Shame i don't like steak
When you fixed the whole last time, did you do it both sides of the liner?
The pond plants should be ok, just so long as they are standing in some water, they only start to die if their roots get dry.
I can imagine how frustrating it must be
Is that bread ready yet?
Herb Robert and little Robin
Skankyrich [?] Posted Sep 20, 2006
Well, you could always watch my face in raptures as I ate it
I was told that I'd only need to do the inside; doing the outside would involve removing the bog and lots of plants and be hellish work, but it may come to that yet
The bread is about to go in the oven, and while it cooks, I'm going to go and grab a curry, I'm flipping starving - not eaten yet today! Back in about an hour or so if you're about; if not, will be hereabouts tomorrow

Enjoy the curry
I'm away now to watch 'Wire in the blood' Nothing like a good bit of murder and suspense to end an evening
I'll be about sometime tomorrow.
G'night m'dear

I recieved a package in the post today Thankyou sooo much for the cd, i listened to it this afternoon and enjoyed it very much
I liked the way you used your own photos on it, what a lovely touch
Thankyou for the cheque too, i'll bank that next week.
Somewhere tucked away in a cupboard, i have a vinyl album of Neal Young. It has 'heart of gold' on it - ahhh...fond memories of my mis-spent youth.

Glad you like it
I'm not a particularly creative person, but I think I've got half-decent taste in music, so it seemed like a good way to thank you in a unique way!

You chose all those tracks yourself? That makes it even more special.
I got my broken tooth sorted, i'm sure the dentists are out to bankrupt everyone 42 quid for a filling! and now its sore
Herb Robert and little Robin
Skankyrich [?] Posted Sep 22, 2006
Yes, of course I did!
Glad you got your tooth sorted, toothache is the worst thing I normally use brandy-soaked white bread, and failing that just the brandy...

Silly thing is, it did'nt hurt before i went to the dentist...I actually paid for the pain! Brandy works for me though the hangover can be worse than the tootache.
It's much better now and normal eating has been resumed
I need the energy as today i'm going to try and dig up a shrub. I've never really liked it and tried a few years back to get rid of the thing. This time i'm hoping to get the whole thing out
It was there before i took over the garden, so its had a fair run.
I'll let you know how i get on or don't get on as the case may be

Oh, I had to get rid of pampas grass the other week, digging out big stuff is such difficult work Hope you got on ok with it! The only problem I have in living in a remote part of the country is that it's hard to offer to help with stuff like that - it would be great to be able to pop up to help Webbie dig a pond, do any big jobs for you, stuff like that but everyone lives flipping miles from me
Herb Robert and little Robin
~:*-Venus-*:~ Posted Sep 24, 2006
I'd rather move house than try to dig up a pampas grass
I did'nt get on well with the shrub. Even though i've cut it right down, so it only covers a small area - the roots must go down to Australia! I have two options. I can wait untill February when the thing is still dormant, then try to dig it. Or i can break all the rules of my garden and use a chemical to kill it, thats not really a course i want to take. I may try digging a small trench round it and see if the rain will loosen it. Last resort is, i put up with the damn thing for another 20 years
I know you would be happy to help if it was possible....soooo i suggest you move nearer to me and Webbie!

Oh, I've got rid of two of the buggers now!
Sounds like a real pain to get rid of, that shrub. If you cut it right down to a stump and expose the roots, won't that help to loosen it up? Leave it til the spring and I'll hack it out when I come up for the celandine
Cerne Abbas looks good, but I'll have a proper read when my thinking head is on

I have cut it right down, there is no stump, it's a suckering shrub. I'm going to leave it over winter, then have another go
Shall i start calling you Wurzel?
Herb Robert and little Robin
~:*-Venus-*:~ Posted Sep 24, 2006
Did Wurzel have a head?
I watched a squirrel in my neighbours garden this afternoon. It hung upside down by it's legs and tail from the bird table, then proceeded to break into the nut feeder the nieghbours had. In just a few minutes, it had managed to get the bottom off the feeder so all the nuts dropped to the ground

Skankyrich [?] Posted Sep 24, 2006
No, but one of them wrote 'I am a cider drinker...'
Some have been at my feeders too, incredible how much nibbling damage the critters can cause, eh? You have to respect the ingenious little ers, I suppose...

I must be showing my age ya know, i meant Wurzel Gummage...him without the 'I have a brand new combine harvester....'
Thats why i don't put out nuts, the little must have destroyed at least 3 nut feeders last year. I stick to seed and fat balls.
