So how was your weekend?
We did some chores around the property and went to town for a birthday party, spent most of the day still trying to lock down our identities and protect them from identity theft after all our tax records dissappeared
Talked to a young guy who is coming up on Saturday to show us a system he came up with where a sprinker system goes up on our roof and the gutters are blocked then water is pumped in and the gutters overflow giving you a curtain of water all the way around the house in the event of a bush fire sounds brilliant if it works.

That sounds like it ought to be a simple and yet effective safety measure. Very costly?
Our week-end was busy enough ... Saturday, some sanding and painting of a cabinet, and then a dinner and dance that night. A live band, playing all 50's tunes. Sunday was the rest of the painting, some grocery shopping and laundry time, but mostly staying in and away from a howling blizzard.

Sounds like the perfect weekend to me now just add a glass of port a fire... preferably in a fireplace and without attending fireman..... a good book and maybe some chocolate covered macadamias and I'd be happy...... not sure what the cost is yet will wait until he has had some tea cake and coffee on the back verandah before finding that out

By the way, there really is no need to start a whole new conversation each time you are on-line. If this thread, or an earlier one has slipped down your conversations, just look at my space. It will probably be visible in the second block, "Message Centre".

It sounds a lovely week-end ahead for you all then. I don;t yet know what mine will be ... A little more snow shovelling, domestic chores, perhaps an opportunity to try to get a wireless network working in our house. Mostly I'll see what happens AS it happens.

Good luck with the wireless network we have one and for the past two months I have not been able to get my laptop to work on it I am hoping that while my dad is here he can get it up and running He has to be the only 67 year old that I know who knows more about computers than Bill Gates

Nope, the wireless option isn't going to work. Not without throwing a lot more money at it that I wish to. I don't mind the $69 router, but to put in another $50 for an antennae that I can position where I need it? That's too much. I have already wired a few locations in the house, so that must do.
Ya see, I built a computer room/offic in our basement last year. From there, to anywhere other than 2 bedrooms, a "line-of-sight" for wireless connection will see the heating duct, the cold-air return ducting, ... simply a lot of tin that is all part of our heating and air-conditioning. Just dumb, bad luck there ...

I don't know what our problem is it started when we went off satelite and onto fibre optic cable ADSL...it shouldn't make any difference as far as my limited understanding goes
Last time I was at dad and mum's he was showing us his latest box of tricks he cals it BT2 (box of tricks number two) he has it all wired up in his shed and then from upstairs in their sitting room they have a huge flat screen tv where with a click of a mouse he can check his email, while recording a DVD, call up his music library switch on the aircons blah blah blah it drives mum round the bend she says all I want to do is watch tv and I end up turning every appliance in the house on instead

I think your calling card is quite . I do suggest that you still put it in the square brackets at Lil's though, ... it's kinda a form-thing.
