That's fighting talk

The blood is up in me now. The hackles are roused. The pike will be coming out of the thatch. There'll be whigs on the green.

I just heard a free-stater telling a group of American tourists that the beer is better in County Louth than in County Down. smiley - cross That is a lot of rubbish up with which I will not put.

I hereby challenge any Louth man, who wishes to defend this notion, to a twelve-round bare-knuckle bout on neutral ground - the boundary line in Carlingford Lough. Then we'll see if you really can walk on water. smiley - tongueout

[All of the above should be taken with a large dose of smiley - tongueincheek. I have been reading rather a lot of Myles na gCopaleen of late and I think the boundaries are blurring.]

Learning

I met a very interesting bloke last week. And a couple of times this week, too. A fascinating man in a number of ways. He's one of those people with a turn of phrase that brings a smile to your face, and he has an amazing knowledge of trees and woodlands as habitats. The only thing is, I think I will have to give him a wee bit of education. In one of our finest local hostelries, with one of the widest ranges of lagers and ales you will find in town, his first call was a pint of Budweiser. smiley - laugh

But he's already opened my eyes a bit. Learning is a two-way street, like so much else in life. I think I've opened his, too.

What's the best way to clean coffee off a keyboard?

Boss was sitting next to me on the phone, trying to book an appointment for a cut and blow-dry.

Well, I *think* it was blow-dry she meant to say, but something else came out. smiley - wahsmiley - rofl

What a nuthouse I work in.

Beer Quest

I've decided that, to complement Coffee Quest, Beer Quest will start tomorrow. smiley - cheers

Well, you need *something* to perk you up on a Monday!

I might even push the boat out and have a nice wee pub lunch instead of my usual sammiches/pasta salad.
