Hummingbirds need to wise up to themselves
Posted May 16, 2015
Hummingbirds flap their wings from 70-200 times per *second*.
To get the energy for this, they eat eighteen times their own body weight every day.
This necessitates gathering the nectar from, on average, 1000 flowers.
They need to sit on their arses a bit more! Maybe if they didn't do all that flapping around 1000 flowers, they wouldn't *need* all that food and energy because they would be doing a damn sight less of this silly flapping carry on!
Bloody wee lunatics.

An appropriate device for the conveyance of cheese from hand to mouth.
Posted May 14, 2015
That's what I'm after. A cheese conveyance device.
Having eaten very little today on account of feeling all wretched, I find myself lusting after cheese.
A cheese omelette keeps coming to mind, but I'm not too fussed about the omelette aspect. Cheese on toast seems a bit...not quite what I'm after.
A cheese dilemma is a very spiritually unsettling thing.

We can explain everything about the world, yet we're less representative of the world than the old men who sit in the Vatican.

Let me draw you a sketch
Posted May 8, 2015
I'm going to draw it with words. I can't upload pictures here so you'll just have to imagine it.
The ring of gold around the eye of a blackbird.
The flash of purest white on the collar and wings of a wood pigeon.
That glimpse of purest sunlight, when a gull veers in flight.
The fffffffff sound of a rook's feathered, fingered wing.
The hazelnut-coloured head of a sparrow.
An oystercatcher picking sand against the sky.
The misty borderland where cloud becomes rain.
Thousands of starlings, all at once.
Reasons to be cheerful. Things worth working hard for.
