Nursing a bit of a head

Not so wry as my smile when a *simple* technical answer to the *narrow* question of whether a false inference was a false syllogism produced a response that made those of the sadly missed ww seem positively....terse.

The analogical cliche about mountains and molehills occurs.

This odd notion that I am required to be fair seems a particularly English fixation.

Also I am also one of the 'intellectual elite' again. A very bad thing apparently

In my culture being called such indicates approval rather than sisapproval......so it goes.

I now own five chess sets! That is a real absurdity.

As an addendum

I have done a brief review of my prior posts on a number of threads and find that

1.I am significantly more likely comment on the absurdity of the views of theists rather than atheists.

2. I am not critical of atheists generally only of those who are acolytes of the absurdities who are the 'New Atheists'.

3. I find all zealots intrinsically absurd whatever their orientation.

Don't worry, I don't have the odd notion that you should be required to be fair, but that doesn't spoil my wry smile when somebody draws attention to you not being. As for it being an English fixation, I think I had naively assumed that fairness was a trans-cultural concept and that the stereotype of 'fair play' being peculiarly English was a hangover from colonial times.

But wait a minute...it seems you have done an audit of your posts and come to the conclusion that you were fair after all. As I've only seen the threads we are talking on, plus the faith/proof thread I looked at recently I can't endorse this verdict from a position of having looked at the evidence, but I'm happy to do so on the basis of taking your word for it.

Funny though, I always imagined you as Scottish....
