Thinking? Who thinks this early in a game? You're just trying to unsettle me.

oops
Forgot to move your e4 to e5 before my d6
Black resigns
Told you I was rubbish

I think a certain leeway should be allowed due to the format and your unfamiliarity with algebraic. Do have a takeback, it seems a shame to have you resign as you would not have made such a blunder face to face.

Hi psi
OK
It was a sort of blond moment only partly to do with the algebraic notation. I did have to look up N for knight.
However, it had more to do with my not being used to 'postal' play. I simply forgot that I had to make your physical move on my board
You must have thought my d6 a very eccentric response to a threatened pxN.
I think we are here
e4 Nf6
e5 ?
I fear my penchant for eclectic openings has got me into trouble again. I must resist.........
Anticipate much twitter involving the knight while I try to extricate myself
thinking.......

hi jank
Not at all though not much will happen tonight.
We have had a big bonfire (with occasional malts but no wicker man)) and I am off for my occasional Saturday night with my religious friend who will laugh uproariously when I tell him of the deep trouble I am already in.
'Postal' Buckaroo anyone?
bis spater.

Bx4,
Yes, this is the position:
1. e4 Nf6
2. e5
I know what you mean about postal chess. By coincidence, the only time I have tried it is a game I started a few months ago with somebody who used to haunt the R&E board. His move rate has improved but we are only at move 20. I blundered away a bishop because I moved the wrong rook of his on my board. So we are both novices at this.

Hi psi
Wrote a reply earlier. Must have not posted.
Nd6
Somewhat thrown by yr e5 anticipated Nc3.
'Postal' errors. In the 'Mucked up rook' move) scenario you describe I'd have suggest a rewind. Postal error not being play errors.
20 moves: Playing a blitz then?
Draw: Outcome of last night's game. Not skill but rather differential preferences for Caol Ila, I suspect.
Largely AFK for next few days.

Nd6 is not available. I imagine you mean Nd5 as, I recall, that is this defense's main line (Alekhine's Defense).
I'll await your confirmation anyway.
Move 20: Yes the other game is really slow due to my opponent not moving for ages at a time. So I'm used to that. I didn't request a takeback in the wrong rook case, it is just a personal rule I have.

hi psi
yes
Nd5
Sorry
Alekhine's Defence: You could be right I don't recall it ( I see a book purchase looming). I had been trying for the Irregular Defence which was played against me recently.
Ne4 looked problematic. Ng8 pointless
20 moves May be fast compared with this one.
Personal rule: fair enough. Not sure if I was playing against you I'd want to benefit from a 'postal error'.

It is up to 22 moves now!
If you do benefit from one of my postal errors then I will only have myself to blame.

morning psi
Sorry, post-a-move delayed by 'server error' early this am.
d6
22: Expect no such blitz game here.
postal error: If you had been playing against me and you had insisted on letting it stand rather than rewind, I would have resigned. Different personal rule, I guess

As I say, I am used to days (sometimes months) between moves with my other opponent so any chivvying from my side should be taken with a pinch of salt.
1. e4 Nf6
2. e5 Nd5
3. d4 d6
4. c4
Postal error: different personal rules, yes. I suppose we'll just have to try to see to it that they don't clash.

hi psi
1. e4 Nf6
2. e5 Nd5
3. d4 d6
4. c4 Nb6
postal error: I need to check out the algebraic convention when two or more of the same kind of pieces could move to the same square.
Plans are uncertain over the next few days. I'll reply when I can
Key: Complain about this post
