Ouch

When will I learn to read the smiley - bleep labels?

Having been nipped by insects various over the last few days, I bought a tube of something called after bite, read what you are supposed to do with it and proceeded to do it. All went well until I applied it to one nasty nip on my eye-brow.

It was just like lion wee! Then I did read the label and realised the smiley - bleep stuff had ammonia as a main ingredient - not to be used near the eyes. Ah well - back to the drawing board.

togetherness please

I would welcome some community prayers/positive thoughts, for my wonderful, beloved Brother-in-Law - who is in great need right now!

GEC had a couple of rather major strokes a few years ago; and although he recovered most of his faculties, my Sister has had to watch him very carefully.

He has had stomach pains for almost a year - which turn out to be gall-stones; but on Thursday, he looked so ill my Sister insisted on calling out the Doc. The dear man was swiftly taken to the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary; where it transpires he also had a kidney infection - this has now become pnuemonia; and to cap it all - last night he had a heart attack.

We are all absolutely gutted. I was so young when my Sister met GEC, that I feel I have known him for always. The most caring man who I have never had a cross word with for over 50 years and I truly love him to bitssmiley - wah

More pics

I have posted a few rather poor photos of yesterday's trip to 'The Jungle' as I had to use the phone, rather than a camera. (have e-mailed you a couple GB.)

These can be found here ->

What a wonderful day

I have had an absolutely wonderful day today! Met up with GB as arranged and she took me to the 'Jungle'. It was smiley - magic We then went for a smashing lunch in her local. Loads of everything a body could want and more; all fresh and nicely hot. The company of GB was brilliant. I didn't feel any of the usual - what do I say to someone I have never met feelings; it was as if I had known her for yearssmiley - biggrin The surroundings were good too; we were seated in an extremely nice conservatory; which according to GB, you don't normally manage to get. My only disappointment was that due to a nasty accident on the M1, it took me 1.1/4 hours to travel the distance normally associated with 20 minutes; and I didn't have time to call at the caravan to water the tomatoes/runner beans on the way up. I therefore had to leave GB MUCH TOO EARLY, so I could do them on the way backsmiley - cross

I am however, now feeling totally pi**ed off. SS being in Cornwall with my camera, I managed to take some pics at 'The Jungle' with my new all singing/all dancing fancy posh phone. Now! I want to send copies to GB - can I set up the e-mail options? can I smiley - bleep The instructions tell me how to show them on my tele - what good is that? I suppose now I shall have to get a memory card, then use the card reader to transfer them to the pc; and then try to e-mail them from there. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

If invited, I shall definitely be back GBsmiley - hug

The A Team - all on my own too!

I had been feeling rather pleased with myself! Since my little medical hiccough last June/July (whenever it was) and following the advice of the MD to; amongst other things, lose weight, I have now lost over three stones.

SS is not altogether best pleased with the amount of readies I am costing in new clothes; but there you gosmiley - evilgrin So! I decided to treat myself to a pair of shorts. After all, the Summer is just around the corner (or so I keep telling myself). I went into a well known high street store and purchased a pair of shorts/black/Scorp for the use of; size 14. Yippeeeee - considering I was a size 20 when I started, I don't think that's bad going.

On telephoning number one Daughter with the news, she said "Oh Mother!smiley - cross I hope you haven't bought something horrendoussmiley - grr Why didn't you wait for me to come with you?"

However, when she got home and had a look at my purchase, she burst into fits of laughter. Now what have I done wrong I wondered; but no! apparently what I have chosen is 'THE thing' to be seen in this yearsmiley - biggrin

I love it when a plan comes togethersmiley - cheers
