Mags NaJoPoMo 2014 Day 6

Gods in the ground, that wasn't just appalling, it was embarrassing. <
Our number 42, Yaya Toure, may have hit the back of the net and took us 1-all, but he was not the answer last night and being sent off in the 80th minute - after - we'd already gone down to ten men with Fernandinho being shown a red merely 10 mins before summed up a really lacklustre and angry performance. Augero hardly did himself any favours either, trying a dive in the penalty area in the last minute of normal time in an attempt to win a penalty. Shameful overall. I half wonder if was because there were no away supporter to act as foil, but I'm proabaly deluding myself
The red tops are calling for our manager's head. They won't be the only ones.
I've consoled myself today with 'finishing' Sherlock Holmes, although I do have to go back and get some other 'endings' to 1000G it.
Altogether far more entertaining than last night's match

Mags NaJoPoMo 2014 Day 5

We're at home in the Champions league against CSKA Moscow tonight. CSKA cannot bring any away fans with them and shouldn't have had any home fans when we played the first leg at their's but apparently some were allowed in with an additional lot being allowed in at half-time. Last time we managed to snatch a draw out of the jaws of victory. If we don't win tonight, then it's all over.
As the match doesn't start until 7.45 I think I'll solve another case on Sherlock Holmes.

Mags NaJoPoMo 2014 Day 4

Last Christmas we bought a PS3. Yeah, I know. We'd never had one before and there are loads of Playstation exclusives that we wanted to try. Many of them are roleplaying games (RPGs), but there are a fair few others as well. Today, I'll share my experience of playing RPG, The Witch and the Hundred Knight.
Metallia (not Metallica ) the Swap Witch has summoned The Hundred Knight in order to defeat once and for all her rival Malia, the Forest Witch. I'm not going to spoil the story, but Metallia is rude, arrogant and quite frankly hilarious. Staying in her swap issuing orders and occasionally popping out to be rude to other witches and Bosses. The Hundred Knight does all the Dungeon Crawling, killing along with a variety of different minions that he picks up on the way. He quite small, and cute and doesn't talk, but he packs a mighty punch. As he's the only fighter you can play, as it's more hack and slash than turn based. Like all RPGs there's an element of repetition and in some cases utter confusion, but that's par for the course. There are several different endings, but all of them can be achieved in one playthrough with a bit of timely saving.
I really enjoyed it even though it was marred by two lines right near the end of one the endings. The Boss *really* didn't have to have killed another character in that way did he?. All in all, though, a good solid 7 out of 10 for me.

My son started Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark yesterday, he's played least at 5 others over the years and this is third one he's played that has been based on a movie. In all the games you play as both Transformers (the good guys) and the Deceptacons (the baddies). They're all third person shooters and the final battle in each game has been between Optimus Prime and Megatron. You'd have thought Megatron should know better than to fight the Transformers, but like all good (bad?) villains, he never learns his lesson and always comes back for more. They all follow a similar format, the ability to upgrade/change weapons and all have various difficulty settings. This is the first game however that does not have an achievement for playing it on harder settings, so my son has been playing it on easy (wimp) and even then is complaining about how hard it is. The main problem is the length of time between save and check points can be quite long because some of the areas are vast.
He's enjoying so far, as he has with all the others, but no doubt hubby will be picking it up after him to do a final mop up and complete the online achievements. Each to their own, I'd rather spend the whole day sticking pins in my eyes instead.
In other news I was a bit naughty today, walking round the local supermarket (where there are three United fans) in my City shirt and hat, but seriously, it has to be done

Manchester Derby day. I really hope we've not lost our mojo. With Silva out for a month and Toure getting injured as well on Wednesday (he's not been playing at his best in recent games anyway) it could be bit of a worry. We're at home though so I hope they won't disappoint me again this afternoon. What was it we used to say a few seasons back 'Typical City'? I hope they'll be more of the Champions we are.
In other news, I missed Doctor Who last night. I was playing Sherlock Holmes again, until past midnight - it's hugely addictive. The mini games weren't so frustrating and I became a master locksmith. Going to try the new Transformers game after the match. I don't hold out much hope for it the last few have been rather horrific imo and most of the reviews are rather unfavourable, but we'll see.
I might watch Dr Who on, I've been purposefully ignoring the the comments on Farcebook and on here but will read the SFX review afterwards as well.
I'll try not mention Sherlock Holmes tomorrow, but I can't promise anything.
Come on City, make Shrek cry.
