Anyone know what's happened to Arti?

The last I heard was that he was in English Exile, somewhere in Yorkshire, I think.

While this is on the radar, there has been a concern from our t/g compiler regarding being a recognised player, due to being the compiler. I don't see a problem at all. In fact if anyone should withdraw it should be myself as self-volunteered adjucitator.

Thoughts please! just to ease the situation, and please encourage the 'just for fun' brigade...

I don't see a problem at all - the t/g compiler does just that - compile. If the compilers entries are worthy of merit then players will vote. If they aren't they wont. Simple.

At the moment we need all the players we can get - as you say MMF there is little point in voting for 3 out of 6 if your own entries compile 2 of them.

Shall we wait until we are flooded with entries and cries of 'in-house fixing'? Until then, I think we are safe!

As far as I see it it would be harder for you B'el to think of a fantastic sentence and then find a word to fit it. You'd get my vote for being able to do telegrams in reverse!! Off to think about the new one

Good to see some old faces reappearing this week.

Is it time to reset and restart the competition? It would be good to get it going on a level competitive basis again.

One further thought. As people tend to drift in and out of this game, would it be worth doing a table on a running basis - say the previous ten weeks. It would then be easier for future returning players to get back into the competition. What do you think?

I'm easy! Every list is just an uodate, which I am able to do on a monthly basis, and the Game will naturally reset in 59 days anyway, as I had set it for 2006. That is 8 weeks time.

However I will go with the flow! I beleieve in Democracy and Co-operation, so let me know what you want.

a) An annual Roll of Honour.
b) A monthly Roll of Honour.
c) An Olympic style listing, based totally on gold, silver and bronze listings.
d) Posting of the winning Telegrams.
e) Listing of Telegram Players, past and present.

Or any mix of the above.

Any other suggestions gratefully received.

It was also mooted a while ago that someone else could volunteer to take over, or work. with the Telegram Word Poster.

I am still happy to be the Compiler, unless someone else wishes to take over!

I'd really like to see some sort of self-sustaining competition which everyone could compete in, even those who have been away for a while.

I don't know how many subscribe to this thread. Do you think it's worth posting a message on the Playing Area inviting people to this debate? It would be good to agree something in the remaining weeks of 2006, so we can start something in the new year.

I'm happy to post the words if nobody else wants to.

Don't know about the results, to be honest, I'd have to go searching for them.

Hey! You know that that is not true! Please don't think that!

If there are plans to revamp the game then all discussions, past and present, may need looking at.

For me, I'm happy to stay with the current pattern, but this is a friendly, democratic game, and I'm happy to go with what others want, and adapt, change or bow out, as gamers request!

I just want the game to continue, and the Gamers' numbers to increase!
