I should be posting a new Telegram about now, but hardly anyone's voted for SCOOP. Should I hold out MMF?

Never mind,everybody had two weeks to vote on scoop, I don't think another day or so will work wonders and make people vote, imho.

It looks like you, me and MMF are the only ones who've voted so far. Can our scoring person (isn't that MMF?) do the scoring properly with so few voting?

HBFJ. Thanks for your concerns. It doesn't really matter how many vote. In fact the fewer the easier, but it does skew the results, and I feel it is unfair that people post to the game, get votes themselves but then don't vote themselves. I know it is heading for the holiday season, and some are students, but it has been declining for a while.
However I can be very pig-headed and will persevere with it, and continue posting and voting, and where possible link with hootooers I meet up with.
Just keep up your good work both of you. It is appreciated, if only by me.... Next update will hopefully be tomorrow, if it is quiet here at work.

Can I just add my thanks to you all. Many people don't appreciate how much of a commitment servicing an h2g2 game can be.

We've been through these troughs before, so no need to be pig-headed yet.

Just to say the work of HBFJ, IN, and MMF is appreciated.
Persoanal troubles have made me a little inconsistant over the last few months but I shall endever (sp.?) to ne more consistant from now on.

I hope this doesn't sound too anarchistic but I've been worrying aobu thte voting bit. I've posted on some without voting and then felt guilty and not posted as I didn't have time to go through the entries and rate them as well as posting.

What about everyone having the opportunity to say if they liked any of the postings without actually voting? Could we do away with the competitive element but still allow 'pats on the back' for good telegrammers?

I think more people would take part if voting wasn't taking place.

In a nutshell: Post a gram then, if you want, pat anyone on the back if you liked theirs. Everyone stays friends - more telegrams posted.

Voting isn't mandatory, so I doubt whether it's discouraging anyone from playing - I'm sure not everyone would feel guilty about not voting.

Tell you what... I'll post telegrams but not vote. So don't count any votes for me as that wouldn't be fair.

Unfortunately Bassman has made the same mistake as I did a few weeks ago, and posted an incorrect number of Telegrams. Can I suggest that, as was done with my multi-posting, voting be suspended until it is known which two to vote for? The postings are:

Hi all, I'm going on vacation and won't be able to post a Telegram this week. Next week is iffy. If someone else would like to fill in that would be fine. Or the telegram can go on vacation till August 19 or possibly the 26th if I can't get to a computer on the 19th.
