Wednesday

The day started well we awoke to sunshine. I went to see A.the V as usual and came back to find The Boss facing a pile of ironong. being an ex sailor I am quite capable of doing the laundry so I told her to sit down and I finished the pile off. So I stacked up some kudos there.
I went into Pz and had lunch with the scriptwriter. we had a laugh and some of the others, including The American turned up.
After that I took flowers over to The Lost Boy.
I had a quiet time there thinking about the good life we tried to give him and decided that as parents we hadn't done too badly. We gave him the confidence to go out and take his place in the world and that can't be bad. We were priviledged to have him in our lives short time though it was.
I have been writing about him else where and have cleared out some bad stuff from my head, I find I can enjoy what we had more, and think about what we have lost less. That has to be good.

Sunday 10th. October.

I did post a journal entry yesterday but it seems to have lost it's way to this spacesmiley - erm
Today has been a quiet stay at home day. The weather is still appalling so The Boss cooked lunch at home. Nothing much has happened. Reading the papers and just lying around mainly.
The bird table has been interesting to day. The collar doves were back in the week. They look like the same pair whch have been coming fot the last few winters. However today they came today with friends, or perhaps family, there were six of them pecking around the table and garden. it was quite a sight.smiley - smiley

8th. October Friday

It has been a beautiful warm sunny day. I did some more pottering in the garden. Then around to The Son's house to see the two grandaughters who are both off school with a bug.
I spent some time watching the birds in the garden. They are flocking back now the bird table is back up. We get finches, collar doves, wagtails, and linnets regularly.
We did a big shop this afternoon and were chatting on the way about how fast time goes. It seems only yesterday we were just starting out on the big adventure which is marriage. We agreed that although it hasn't been easy it has been mostly a great deal of fun. We went to check on the Lost Boy's flowers on the way back and had a quiet moment.
Over to the library which was full of people and children. it was bright busy and fairly noisy. We have computers in there and the place is very different from the libraries of my youth.
We have to have our 'flu jabs tomorrow.smiley - sadface
