Sunday

The kids all piled in this morning for coffee and laughs. The girls bedroom is finished so we thought we would not be having the kids for a while as next week is half term. However The Son's wife has to work tomorrow morning so we have 'em again.smiley - doh
The weather was so good that after lunch we decided to go up on the North Coast road for a drive.smiley - smiley We turned off at Loggans Mill and up through Gwithian. There was little traffic on the road so we could drive at a slower rate and enjoy the views. Godrevy light house was gleaming in the sun as if it had been newly painted. Because it was windy the sea was quite rough and white crested waves were charging towards the shore. We were not supprised when we got to Porthtowan to see literally hundreds of surfers riding the waves. It was as busy as a summers day. the beach shops and cafes were all open.
We ended up at Presingoll Barns, we thought we would just have a look at the Christmas stock if it was in. It was and we came out about fifty pounds poorersmiley - sadface but with a few little Christmas gifts for the children's stockings.smiley - smiley
We came back on the A 30 and The boss thought she would like to go to R.andJ at Prah Sands so we did 'just for a look' and came out with a new ironing board.smiley - yikes
All in all tho' A Good Daysmiley - biggrin

Dancing

I do not usually spend time regretting the fact that now I am fairly old. (By biblical standards my time is up)However this evening I was almost overcome with nostalgia for my youth.
We watched Strictly Come Dancing. And 'The Past' came sweeping in to my mind.
I was twenty one when I met The Boss at the local dance hall. I was new in this area then and I asked my mate to point out a girl who could dance. he pointed across the room and said 'She's a good dancer'
I looked over and saw the most beautiful girl I had ever laid eyes on. She wore a blue and white dress with a full skirt and I thought I was going to be sick with love(at that age it was more probably lust however)
I asked her to dance and she said she would dance with me.
It was as if we had been dancing together for ever. We danced every dance that night It was the first of many many dances. We married within five months of meeting and were together for nine years before we had children so we were out dancing a lot. And ballroom dancing was our thing. We danced as though we were making love and of course we practically were. We were both slim and fit in those days. We danced occasionally after the children were born and at our silver wedding party, which was held in the ballroom where we met, we even impressed our sons who had no idea that we were as good as we were.
Watching this evening brought back those wonderful memories, and made me feel sad. We are both creaky now and the dancing is over.
