The church is worried that someone other than them is trying to control people's morals?
Sorry, I just found that slightly funny. There's a much wider debate here, but this whoel article came across as being a little desperate and petulant. If people dont feel the need for organised religion, or for specific denominations, so be it. There's meant to be a free choice, surely? And if religious groups can advertise, so can atheist groups. Personally I'd have the whole lot go the way of tobacco adverts. Ban the lot. Personaly I believe that spiritual decisions should not be cases for marketing strategies. It makes a mockery of any vestiges of genuine faith and shows religion up for what it is to most people in this day and age. A club to belong to, a business to profit from.

the church never claimed to be democratic. there are god's laws and the churches laws - and you don't get to vote

No, but you are supposed to have free will as to whether you choose to be governed by them... So being petulant because people are excercising that freedom of choice seems a little, well, ridiculous...

it's even more absurd if you consider that god's law applies to all creatures big and small. but since i don't live in england the english church can just - well do something that i can't write here out of fear of moderation
god on our side!

You get out of here, lurking around, making the place messy with your smelly, unkempt Matt! (quick, lock the door to the bruvver'ood! Before she sneaks in and hides behind the sofa again!)

*drags her Matt out*
I will have you know... Your sofa is smelly because of all the dirty socks Hoggy keeps leaving under it

Hoggy is just adding depth to the overall aromatics of the coffee he so thoughtfully provides.
Bruvva's coffee. Like builder's tea but... well... Coffee (and sock) flavoured...

I'd strain it through Matt but it might scald him...
