I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about .
My book discussion group discussed "The Dante Club," by Matthew Pearl this morning. Have you read it? It's about Longfellow's group of poets that translated Dante's "Divine Comedy" into English in 1865. A madman happened to be watching them, committing murders in Boston according to the punishments being meted out in Hell in each canto of Dante's work. 
There was no mention of witches.
