The top two screenshots in the Gallery section show you the waves and reflections in a pool.

Oooh, we so need a "drooling in anticipation" smiley!!!

Ooh, yeah! (Though could work. )
Those effects are going to be pretty processor intensive, though, aren't they?

I suspect that if you have a GeForce3, GeForce4 Ti or Radeon 8500 or better, you'll find that pixel and vertex shaders will be handling a fair bit of it for you. But yes, there will be processor drain on it, and I don't think my 800MHz Athlon will be able to keep up
I do have a GeForce3 Ti200 though, which should help

I'll be getting the same card as you... eventually.
The thought of the GeForce4 being out already scares me, to tell you the truth!

Ha-hah! I appear once more!
Just thought I'd bring this old convo back up to tell you about the changes that have occurred to that Unreal Editing site of mine.
It's now left the network it was part of and set up shop on its own under the name of Grey Fusion. Its new purpose is to deal with general FPS game engine editing, which includes such things as map and mod making, engine-specific coding (UnrealScript or whatever it's called springs to mind) and investigations into how engines work.
Pop over and have a look if you have time. Obviously, we don't have any real content yet as it's just opened, but the forum's running.

Looks interesting! I'll have to come there once I get UT2003...

June or July, I believe...
* rubs hands together *
I'm really looking forward to it.

Ooh, yeah.
Before that, though, I'm going to try and get my hands on GTA3. Not exactly and FPS, I know, but a good game nevertheless.

I've already ordered it from Play for a very reasonable price indeed! Due out on the 17th of May according to them.
And then of course there's WarCraft 3... * drools *

17th eh? I heard it was the 21st. Even better then!
A lot of people I know are really looking forward to that game. I've never played the series, or anything like it really. I ought to sometime.

Sometimes I wonder if I should, since I do after all want to be a cop, but I figured loads of cops probably have a copy anyway... besides, I'm a big enough boy now that I can tell the difference between a game and reality

Incidentally, the second paragraph in my last post was actually replying to your remark about WarCraft 3, just in case it escaped you.
But yes, I know where you're going with the GTA3 thing. I always follow the basic rule: It's only a game.

A good rule, that. Makes things much more fun!

Chris Tonks Posted Apr 29, 2002
Oh yes, most certainly!
Mind you, I probably won't have any time to play GTA3 when it comes out, what with exams an' all. I'd best wait till afterwards.

I play games in revision breaks. It comes out just as my exams start, so it shouldn't be too bad for me. If it was out now, I'd never get any of my coursework done!

Chris Tonks Posted Apr 30, 2002
Yeah... GTA London has taken away my lunchbreaks at college.
But a good game between bouts of revision would be a good idea. Or perhaps working on one of my websites. I've got enough of them.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I just volunteered to do another one last night. Shouldn't be too hard though, I'm thankful to say, and I'm sure I can come up with something better than the current one - which is, frankly, awful.
Key: Complain about this post
