er, what i meant was, er, that, er, well, er, when i was in york/UK on saint paddy's day a few years back all the young girls were running around seminaked in spite of snowfall, storm, bitter cold and what have you. all the girls in miniskirts had legs that looked like blue thights even if they weren't wearing any, see? smiley - smiley

a few weeks back i saw hugh laurie (actor from london, who for the time being w*rks in the US) on ellen degeneres' talkshow. he mentioned that he goes back to wife and kids in london when everybody else in the US celebrate thanksgiving. "we don't do that in the UK", he said, "we just sit around mourning the loss of the colonies".

he earned a lot of laughs, but i was thinking "watch it, young man, you brits used to be *our* colonies! smiley - evilgrin

I love Huge Laurie! smiley - boing I have the 1st series of House MD on DVD for 'im indoors wrapped as a smiley - gift under the smiley - xmastree (we missed most of the first series) and there is also the Jeeves & Wooster series box set pour moi! smiley - ok

the only disappointing thing i ever saw with fry was 'gosford hall' which otherwise is a brilliant film smiley - ok

fry was too good for his role as a somewhat befuddled police investigator smiley - erm

Bright Young Things is a film, directed by Stephen Fry and based on the novel by Evelyn Waugh. smiley - bigeyes

I really enjoyed the film, although critics weren't that kind to it.
