Traveller in Time reading everywhere on HooToo (and many sister sites)
"< <./>/dna/hub/communities</.> > shows the state of the other sites next to HooToo on the dna engines. Page has not been updated recently
In the summer of 2005 the messageboards finally came over, Many times we were presented with 'Server Too Busy'. Jim and his team managed to keep the site online for most of the time.
Current status is struggling to keep the frontpage filled with new Edited Entries. < A9741972 > and < A3845586 > 'Focus on Peer Review Archive' "

"'take on things'
Think you are referring to the struggling part, I think it is a trend started long ago. When I just got here there were five entries on the FrontPage, later we had three to keep the queue filled. Now we have problems making one Entry a day (< <./>comingup</.> > less then 25 entries and PeerReview less then 25 too.).
Perhaps it are the Wikis taking over some writers. Perhaps it is the strick rules down here. You should know we have a profanity filther returning your post to preview on triggering some possibly offending character combinations < F77636?thread=2636225 >. This filther was accompanied by 'this thread is closed' a function the italics can use to close down threads. Even 'no no no' has been closed at times
.
The italics do not manage to be present at meets an like you already figured out we actually only have one (Natalie) left. Think this absense of Hosts does also not encourage the society. "

Yep, that's what I referred to. Ok, so the rules and regulations coming from the site being hosted on the BBC (the BBC's need to protect its reputation is understandable, but hootoo was tame from all I know) took their toll. I remember reasearchers being unhappy about the new imposed rules, but not that they'd be leaving the site in flocks.
And lack of manpower leading to automatic filters is not a good trend either. I always felt that having a personal aquaintance with the Eds - made their decisions easier to understand - if not accept...
