Bob, have a look here A85834173 at the announcement of 2 Feb 2014. This names the Core Team. Most of them have been there since the take over from the BBC.
h2g2 Creationeers are Researchers/Authors who have taken up a challenge to write Entries/Poetry for the Guide or 
during a particular month and had it posted. Badges are given in acknowledgement for the work done.
