I bought icecream today but that was for Rupert, he has a common skin mite, common in adolscent dogs, he has to have ivomec once a day an it tastes terrible but mixed with icream it is not too bad ( so I have been told)
you must need the sleep, migraines can be really draining, just don't go into hibernation mode, not good for depression
yuo really do have alot of friends

Thank you.
Too right, migraines are draining. I'm operating on about 70% of normal power, I'd say. I may have another nap later on. But first, I need to do some washing and find something to eat. Apart from ice cream, that is. Not , either. There's some spinach & cheese things in the freezer; all I have to do is put them in the oven, and remember to take them out again. I should be able to manage that.
I was going to clean the kitchen, but I've wound that back to just tidying it. I was going to do my tax, but I've settled for just finding all the paperwork instead. I was going to see some people today, but that just isn't going to happen. Not as planned, anyway. One of them is welcome to drop in and laze about on the couch for a while, but the others are a bit hard to handle when I'm not completely alert...

Rain!
I'm hoping for rain down here, of course. I'm sure it'll happen, one day. Enjoy it while you can...

this is the first rain we have had in about 16 weeks..........
we went driving this morning, when it was just spitting, some areas are just so dry, I just hope the mill is down when I go in midnight tomorrow
Hey Ivan
Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Oct 17, 2004
We've had *some* rain lately, but not nearly enough... How wet does it have to be before the mill's down? *tries not to make 'trouble at t'mill' python-type joke*
Hey Ivan
Heleloo - Red Dragon Incarnate Posted Oct 17, 2004
depends, if the mill is desperate for maintenance they can stop the farmers harvesting after 6mm of continous heavy falls, usually it is the farmers that cause the stop as they can't get into the fields to harvest, at this time of the year, most 'wet' blocks should have been harvested leaving 'dry' sandy soil blocks, also the loco tracks get very slippery an dangerous in the wet, so they stop hauling as well
I dislike doing rain stop shut downs as we have to liquide everything an leave the effets full of water, it is usually raining when this happens so you get very cold an wet as you are doing it, raincoats don't
help much they just make you hot an sweaty

I see... *thinks to self* If there's heavy rain very soon, you're in with a chance of the mill being shut down before your next shift. And if you're less fortunate, you might be the unfortunate who has to do the shut-down.
Good luck...

Heleloo - Red Dragon Incarnate Posted Oct 17, 2004
that's it, we each hope the others will cop it
I got a rain stop very early in the season an then got the start up to, I have no worries about it now though, done so many stops/starts, I reckon I could do it blindfolded is just very tiring.......
hope you r week is good, or at least better...

I think the upcoming week will be bearable, apart from some bureaucratic crud which no doubt will hit me tomorrow. This'll be to do with my reasons for going to w*rk on Friday, only to collapse in a heap in the sickroom for 3 hours and then leave. (I have no clear memory of getting home, which is slightly troubling.)
Hey Ivan
Heleloo - Red Dragon Incarnate Posted Oct 17, 2004
paperw*rk can be hell, but if you were sick an people could see that things should be ok, the migraine may have interferred with your short term memory, pain can do that, things just don't sink in
mmmmmmmmmm the house smells of bacon, I bought a heap of bacon pieces the other day, now I am rendering the fat in the oven, the place smells heavenly
Hey Ivan
Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Oct 17, 2004
Bacon! I knew there was something other than ice cream that I should have bought yesterday.
It may have been foolish of me to bother to go to w*rk on Friday, but at least I have witnesses to the condition I was in. The bosses were away, you see, and I don't want the Big Boss to accuse me of making it all up. He does that - he's a charming man - as Mark Twain said about someone, 'I admire him, honestly I do, and when his time comes I shall buy a piece of the rope as a keepsake.'

the butcher I use had bacon pieces for $1.99 a kilo (usually 3.99), mix of big chunks an slices, I just chop the fat off the big chunks, then slice them, that is what I am melting at the mo, I put a tablespoon of fat in the pan when roasting potatoes or making chips
I prefer getting sick at work, at least then people 'know' you are ill, an not just havin a day off

Very true. Although it was hell getting to w*rk via 2 buses, and vile once I was there, and presumably the journey home was hellish too, at least it was obvious that I was in a genuine bad state.
Hey Ivan
Heleloo - Red Dragon Incarnate Posted Oct 17, 2004
2 buses!
our bus service here is only good if you live in certain areas, for instance, if I want to catch the bus to town (3kms) I have to walk 3 kms in the opposite direction to the nearest bus stop
one reason I love my scooter, very cheap to run an there are bike parks every half a block in town
Hey Ivan
Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Oct 17, 2004
The two buses aren't that bad when I'm not diseased; the first one goes down my street, and gets me into town in 10 minutes or less; the second one runs every 5 minutes and is more or less an express from town to the office.
It's a rubbish service on Sundays, though.
Hey Ivan
Heleloo - Red Dragon Incarnate Posted Oct 17, 2004
you have a service on the weekends we have buses from about 8.30 am till about 4pm mon to fri an never on a pubic holiday
Hey Ivan
Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Oct 17, 2004
That's the joy of living in a 'major metropolitan centre' - the buses run every day. I guess the tourists need them. They stop at about 7pm on Sundays, which is a bit of a nuisance, but it's better than nothing.

That must be one of the Top 10 Typos. So easy to do, too...
