Down here we have another week of it, for the Territory elections on the 16th...
Then the ads for sheepdip will start again.
Hey Ivan
Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Oct 6, 2004
The Federal election is on the 9th; the ACT elections (for the ACT Legslative Assembly) are on the 16th. I wish they were on the same day, but there's some clause in the rules that prevents local elections in territories being on the same day as Federal elections.
There, I'm sure that's cleared it up.
Now I'm watching Horse Feathers - for a while. I might have to go and lie down soon.

thinking about elections is enought to make me want to lie down to
did you get a bulk deal on the marx bros films?
I too have to go to bed soon, big day shopping tomorrow and more physio

Three films, boxed set, $50. I can't justify the expense, but it's done now...
I have a presentation to give tomorrow, to a truly stupid audience. I need a good sleep before I face that.
Hey Ivan
Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Oct 7, 2004
I was up early, yes. Insomnia provoked by today's presentation thingy. It went well, which is a relief - the audience wasn't completely dim, which was a surprise. I'm not sure how much attention they were paying, but I think a few things might have sunk into their soggy middle-management brains.
In a few weeks I'll have to give a repeat performance to a bigger, dopier group. I don't want to think about that too much until I have to.
How was your day?
Hey Ivan
Heleloo - Red Dragon Incarnate Posted Oct 7, 2004

I'll have a day like that on Saturday. Voting, groceries, home, take old DVD thingy to repair shop, more shopping, home, out for lunch, home, off to an election night drinkies thing (unless I'm too stuffed by then)... I'm dreading it.
Ah, that's better.

so how was you day
I ended up staying hope from work, I have a really bad ear infection , It is better now, my eardrum finally burst about 2 am an relieved the pressure but managed some sleep today so will be right for work tomorrow
Hey Ivan
Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Oct 9, 2004
The day's been quite pleasant so far, but watching the election results come in is depressing me rather.
I get a lot of ear infections for some reason; I haven't yet found any way of coping with them, so all I can do is sympathise.
Hey Ivan
Heleloo - Red Dragon Incarnate Posted Oct 9, 2004
i get them all the time, I have had my eardrum rebuilt which help for about 10 years, but since it burst a few years ago it has been a problem, this is the worst it has been in ages, my sinuses have been bad in the last few weeks, probly hasn't helped
I am purposely avoiding looking at the results,(just call me an ostrich) It will be all over the sunday newspapers, that is soon enough for me
still going out tonight?
Hey Ivan
Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Oct 9, 2004
I cancelled the original invitation I had for tonight, then got another one and dithered about it all day. I finally decided to stay home in case I got too depressed by the election - which is in fact what is happening.
Hey Ivan
Heleloo - Red Dragon Incarnate Posted Oct 9, 2004
in which case you should have gone out............and gotten depressed in company, you never know you could have met a fellow sympathiser
I nearly wasn't quick enough on the button before, almost saw a result
Hey Ivan
Ivan the Terribly Average Posted Oct 9, 2004
At either gathering I could have gone to, I would have been with people of the same political colour. But the fact is, at a moment like this I need to be alone... I might even go to bed soon...
I can't begin to explain how upset and downcast I am, not just at the result but at the sheer stupidity of the electorate.
Hey Ivan
Heleloo - Red Dragon Incarnate Posted Oct 9, 2004
yeah, I know the feeling I really can't put into words how depressing it is, I just know the bonsai will get in again, the war aside, most people forget his lies, an seem to think he is a saint he has some good spin docs on his payroll
are people so gullible......this is the bloke that said I will never bring in GST
I am only making it worse for you I think
