Malabarista - now with added pony

Now we can't even go play cards, because she's managed to catch some hospital infection and has been quarantined - and they'll only let two of us in there at a time, after dousing us in disinfectant smiley - doh We'll bring her something to read, at least... smiley - ok

*sends rain* We've got enough smiley - winkeye

Thanks. The more rain, teh better. I will *never* complain about getting rained on, once this drought ends, if it ever does.

Good luck with the disinfectant - and with getting rid of the smell of it afterwards. smiley - cheerup

the one good thing about xmas is that everybody feels obliged to bend over backwards to make it home for the holidays. this means that at least once a year i can be together with all of my children at once smiley - ok

this could be the last time, though, as my daughter has just been invited to study in singapore for six months, starting 1. august. she is the youngest and both her brothers are in long term relationships so maybe they will join their girlfriends families next xmas and i will be clebrating alone at home or somewhere else. maybe i'll volunteer to celebrate xmas for lonely and/or homeless people. i may not like xmas, but if they do, why not? we'll see smiley - zen

I last spent Christmas at home with the whole family in 1998. smiley - zen I've enjoyed it a lot more since then as I've been assured of what I really want - peace and quiet. The fact that I had to move 1300km away to get some peace and quiet (and a life of my own) is a minor irritant.

A couple of years ago Mum and my sister came over here for Christmas. Once a decade is enough for me.

2010 - if it's a New Year, will it be cheaper in the sales ? because of the recession, or will it be better to get a second hand one ?smiley - ermsmiley - erm

Prof, I believe 1816 is going cheap at the moment. It's all yours, if you're quick. smiley - smiley

Incidentally, today I reminded myself why I don't go to the end-of-year sales; it's because nothing I need is available and everything else is just a little bit rubbish. What a frustrating afternoon it was.

End of the year sales smiley - groan - I severely dislike them. Lots of people hoarding around pushing, pulling, grabbing pieces og clothic/similar from each other, yelling ...and endless queues where ever you're going...

I might take a walk in the rather heavy snowfall to the co-op to get some milk and veggies.

Making a sticky date pudding, Prof?

Dq, I hope there's no sale on milk and veggies or you might find people wrestling over the last onions or something.

Oh well. Three more days until the new year. A lot of people are saying 2009 wasn't a good one. For me, it was. I might even miss it a bit.

Oh, but thinking about it, if you *do* use 1999, just be careful of the Millennium Bug at the end of the year, that was a nasty bug ger...

You could do that - but you'd have to give up bacon. Would that be a problem?
