We spent xmas at the nursing-home-castle. My mother enjoyed it, and that was the main goal. My youngest son thinks xmas is ridiculous and watch films all day with a friend. I think non-oregano is involved.

My youngest daughter volunteered for the nearby 'department' of Salvation Army and made and served food for the homeless. Somewhere along the line Israelians and burnt almonds were involved. smiley - huh

Our New Year's eve was very quiet indeed. Son M. went to bed at 17:00 (he always turns night into day and vice versa) and sig. S and I paused a film at 23.55 to wish each other a much better year - clinking glasses of water and orange juice.

Today he'll stop smoking as usual, so I'll call on my patience and benevolence.

I like that - he'll stop smoking *as usual*. smiley - silly I used to be like that, but eventually I stopped properly. It took a few years.

My new year's celebrations happened at my friend N's house. It was her birthday on 31 December. Then just after midnight I called my mother as it's her birthday on 1 January. Sometime in between I drank some sparkling smiley - redwine. Then I slept a lot. smiley - zen

Happy New Year!

New Year's eve was a calm event in the Lair. Me, smiley - dragonprincess, some oysters and a lobster.

Today it's snowing profusely so I think I'll stay indoors. My balcony is covered with snow almost all the way up the railings. It must be close to a meter of snow out there.

In the early evening we went to bring the m-i-l some food as she had cancelled our evening together due to not feeling well.

I then spent a quiet evening at the PC talking to my friends, clinked a glass of smiley - bubbly with my husband at midnight and went to bed when the noise of the fireworks ceased. smiley - smiley

Today's a bit of an anticlimax, as 2 January always is. smiley - yawn I have nothing I must do, plenty of things I could do, and I can't decide what. I think this means I'll go for the default option - lie on couch, read a book, move from time to time to get food.

Or I could head out and visit a museum or something.

*thinks*

Nope.

Thursday is hopefully back to w*rk for me. I've not been there since the end of October so there are almost 2½ months w*rk piled up for me...

But my boss doesn't seem to have realised that there should be good to be two persons doing my job.
