Where have I been?
Posted Jun 8, 2005
Let's just say that things have been a little crazy in real life for me in the past few months...
But I'm getting organized and wanted you all to know that I'm not quite dead yet.
Snowfall update from my calendar for the end of the winter:
Feb 28 - Five inches;
March 8 - About a half inch;
March 11 - A light dusting of snow; and
March 24 - Another light dusting.
So for those of you keeping score at home that makes 15 snowfall events this past winter. My grandmother's folk wisdom of receiving the number of snowfalls equal to the date of the first snowfall (the 17th of January) was pretty close to true after all!

Woke up this morning to a winter wonderland outside.
Seven inches of snow and the only blemish out there were the tracks of the deer going across the yard.
The start of school was delayed two hours which means that I wake up an hour earlier than normal. But it did provide me the opportunity to shovel the driveway before leaving for the office at my usual time.
I've been messing around with graphics on the website and we're finally happy with the snow alert display. Hopefully, I won't be needing it much more this year!

The weather predictions were calling for 3-6 inches of snow, but instead we got mess of snow, ice, sleet, freezing rain, rain and slush which the weatherman likes to call 'wintry mix'.
There's no real measure of how much snow we received because it was all slush by the time in ended up on the ground.

Snow squalls from hell today!
The day was sunny with blue skies and then out of nowhere came dark clouds and then a blast of snow. But before you could say 'hey look, it's snowing' it was over and the sky was blue again...

Valentine's Day
Posted Feb 21, 2005
I got the lovely Mrs X and our two girls each a long-stemmed chocolate chip cookie flower from a bakery in Hershey.
They make these cookies special for Valentine's Day and I've never missed a year since the wife and I were dating (even when she lived in Philadelphia!).
We also gave the girls a box of candy and a little stuffed animal. The wife received a set of flannel pajamas (not exciting, but practical they were what she wanted without asking for them).
And me? I got nuthin.
