I have been a guide researcher for about 3 years now, although I have been an active guide researcher for only about 8 weeks of that, so if you have questions you better go and find someone else to ask.
If you are looking for me, either to buy me a beer or break my fingers over the whole emoticon thing then you can usually find me on IRC on the Tri-Net network1 where I am a server admin. You can get there in two really easy ways - if you do not have a IRC client then use the Java Chat client at Tri-Net Java Chat and if you do already have a IRC client then click on this link here london.uk.eu.tri-net.org2 which will connect your default client directly to the server.

My researcher number (U52136) turns into 42 in a variety of ways -
52-1-3-6 = 42 (illegal according to the rules)
(5+2-1)*(6+3) = 42 (according to the fact that 6*9 = 49 or so I am told)
(5-2+1+3)*6 = 42
