Also Ran 1's Splendiferous Birthday Party
LL Waz Started conversation May 22, 2005
This is an invitation on behalf of AR1, (who is temporarily working undercover disguised as GenJoanofAc,) to a particularly Splendiferous Birthday Party.
Officially it's on Monday. But the BBC, remembering the riotousness of the 75th party two years ago (weren't there motorbikes invovled?), have attempted to forestall the celebrations. They've called a strike F77636?thread=646245&skip=0&show=20. Yes, I think it's a little over the top of them too, but there you are.
We won't be defeated however. The party starts today folks! And if it can't carry on tomorrow, it restarts on Tuesday! Personally I think one glimpse of AR1 in her new chainmail suit and flaming red hair will send all the BBC minions scurrying back to their posts where they belong .
Ok, drink of any kind you can imagine is on tap, dress is as optional as you wish to make it, just bring yourselves, a plate, and anything else you fancy.

Cheers, pheloxi , here's to AR1.
You don't by any chance have a juke box, or a trumpet, or anything like that with you do you?

My so dear LLWaz, -
what a lovely idea. A surprise party!!. It makes up for being lost (I hope only temporarily) in the ether)
Yes pheloxi, it was you who organised the garden party for my 75th birthday in 2003.
Now the number is 77!!.
I have just opened a bottle of Veuve Clicot, and am pouring out a glass of this nectar for the first people to arrive, LLWaz, pheloxi and my darling K. (who has contributed a bottle of cherry liqeur!!. Very good for great grandmothers with red hair.
If you can't all come this afternoon an tonight, Waz has said we can go on partying on Tuesday 24th.
Imagine being fazed by a 77year old. I feel quite chuffed!.
A la votre,
Skol,
Cheers,
Chinchin,

A la votre, AR1/GenJoan , and I brought some wire-cutters. Thought they might help with the chainmail.
What's the 'Gen' bit by the way? General?

Hi Waz
Churchill, in his memoirs, said that the most wonderful General that ever was was Joan of Arc!!. I tried to get Joan of Arc originally but the name had already gone. There were a couple of oter suggestions, so I remembered Churchioll's comment and thought
"Well, if I am going to be militant, I might as well emulate her"
A fine meal was had by us all, although it was slightly disrupted.
thank you for arranging this. I am really very chuffed.
With affction

aka
GenJoanofac (temporarily I hope)
Incidentally thank you for the wire cutters. the chain mail is really pinching into my skin!!.

*arrives wearing optional clothing, bringing herself, and a plate*
Am I in time?
*sees that the party has been moved*
No problem, just let me contact the guys who are delivering the 20 foot tall juke box and tell them where to deliver it, and I'll be right over.

Christiane may well be asleep by now, Batty, but we East-Coast-of-U.S.-ers still have Monday for a few more hours. Besides, I know how much you enjoy drinking to people's -er- health, Auntie Bats.

I was hoping to catch her but realistically expected she'd be in bed by now anyway. I don't have access from w**k.

Yes, but you can drink to her health whether she's awake or asleep. And, I'm going to assume that you couldn't drink at w*rk.``
