How are things Tube? I did my first real big gig last Friday night. I had to DJ (solo) all night to complement an AC/DC cover band. It appeared to go very well and those cds I - ahem - 'had' from you were a great help!

Things are going fine, both wise and uni-wise.
Solo-DJ a whole night!?that takes some stamina... one of the flat-mates DJs from time to time and I know how buggered he is after a night of that...
Oh, AC/DC cover band? Did you play some Judas Priest or Deep Purple as well? Good to know that the CDs do some good

Yep, both those, and White Snake, Rainbow, Motorhead, Metallica - you know the score.
Plus, ironically, quite a few from Status Quo because this band had toured with them at some stage apparently.

It was quite exhausting, although the band helped by getting carried away and playing for over 1 1/2 hours! Still a 9-2 stint though.

How goes? I've just been typing with Nyssabird, talking about the pre-meet of the Winter Meet. which made me wonder whether you and TM would be coming along as well, and whether you are staing at the Europa again (I already booked a room for me and Naark)?

We hope to - although I'm not sure if I'll be able to swing an extra day off college for a premeet - they always seem to give us exams on a Friday!

I'll let you know if/when we finalise plans and the Europa seems the best bet - the 'sister' hotel we stayed at last time didn't even have drink-making facilites in the bedroom

We have Pierce coming to stay over New Year which should be fun - plus I've been asked to DJ in the small bar which I'm looking forwards to! NYD is the one day you actually get paid to work at Het Kasteel.

That's a pity with the exams... Can't you even make it to the *evening* pre-meet? Naark and I will fly in on Thursday and take a longish look around town till the meet starts.
I suggest booking the Europa now... I mean they do have a 72 hours cancellation policy. Just book the Fridaytoo and cancle it in early January. Shouldn't be a problem I reckon...

Blimey! Paid at HK? What kind of crowd do they pull that night? Gotta be enormous if they can afford some money for the DJ!

New Year... don't remind me, I have no idea what I'll be doing then...

Yep - NY is probably one of the busiest nights of the year for HK but they also get subbed by the local council to open - keep all the riff-raff off the streets!

If you are still at a loose end nearer the time you are most welcome to come and party over here - floor/bed space included. You'd probably need it for the whole of NYD as last time I don't think we got home until around midday!

Good idea on the hotel front! I'll see how my exam results pan out tomorrow - Thursday's and Friday's aren't nearly as heavy as the rest of the week with regards to time spent there and I suppose I could tackle an exam (if there is one!) the following week.
