I have truly the worst, most splittingly persistantly horrible headache in the world.

Coupled with that, I'm alternately really hot and really cold.

I have a really, really, really nasty sore thoroat.

I can't breathe properly.

And I can't speak.

I feel really sh**ty. smiley - wah

I also can't sleep. smiley - sadface

My clarinets have been packaged up in bubblewrap (inside the case) to be sent off for repair. smiley - wah

I, foolishly, left my clarinets in the hall we were playing in (Which we were told was both safe and locked). My R13 Bb Clarinet now has a crack in it the length of my thumb. Thanks, guys.

Anyway. Both Cainnech (My R13 A) and Vartouhi (My R13 Bb) are being sent off to be serviced. (If any clarinet players in the UK want a recommendation for a repairer, give me a shout.. otherwise, I'm not going to shamelessly advertise, although I would say my repairer's excellent, and charges a fairer price than any other)

This means I'm without an A and I'll have to get to know Titania (My old R13 Bb, which I'm trying to sell, but still have) again, in the meantime. smiley - smiley

Anyway. Having spent about a week continuously playing my clarinets, and having done two concerts (at the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford, and the Oxford Town Hall) and one "informal playthrough" in the space of a week, I think that my clarinets deserve the service they're being treated to. I just hope they're ok. smiley - sadface

*worries about Cainnech and Vartouhi*

Am I sounding too much like a worried parent?

In case anyone's in the Oxford area, I'm playing in the Sheldonian Theatre on Wednesday and the Town Hall on Saturday.. feel free to come and watch. smiley - biggrin

On Wednesday I'm playing principal clarinet in Haydn's Creation and some bits from Elgar's Caractacus Cantata.. and on Saturday, Dvorak's Cello Concerto and Sibelius' second symphony.

Major accomplishments for the day.

i) realised quite how lucky I am. smiley - loveblush

ii) done some philosophy work

iii) tidied the pile of junk covering the floor into a smaller, more concise summary of the previous pile of junk, making way for more pioneering piles of junk to proliferate in previously wasted space.

iv) worked out FINALLY how to automate putting Dilbert and Userfriendly on a Palm using Windows 2000, so that it hotsyncs onto it every morning. smiley - biggrin (If anyone wants to know how, shout. smiley - smiley)
