I don't get this. A group of people spend the best part of two years dominating the music on the stereo system in a common room...
...and then whens someone else plays their own music, they become so intolerant of even an hour's worth, when they're not in control that they resort to being threatening: "I don't want to have to resort of fighting, just turn it off".
And all this in spite of the fact that he whose music was was actually backed up by the rest of the common room present, in spite of the fact that they didn't really like the music (because a: they're my friends and b: they're irritated with the b*llocks that gets played on the stereo normally)
Sometimes, being bigger than most people is a godsend. *relaxes to music he likes*

Two more UCAS offers! ... Admittedly I don't know what one is... but the readout is, so far...
...Birmingham, BBB, Philosophy (hons)
...Cardiff, unknown, Phil / Psych (joint hons)
...Exeter, ABB ("320pts"), Psychology (hons)
Yeah.
Also, I'm going to be travelling three weekends in a row. ... yeah!
*crosses fingers*
Methinks tis time to get a student railcard.

ten minutes in advance of the day itself, I'm posting in my journal to say that I'm popping up to Birmingham (to the philosophy dept. at the university) for a post-conditional-offer openday, subsequent to their offering me 3 Bs to read single honours philosophy.
Whilst Birmingham aren't my first choice, I like the place, and the philosophy dept. does look rather nice.. so I'm popping up to take a look around. From 2pm, I'll be in the philosophy department proper (til around 4, maybe?), whilst beforehand I will probably have a look around the town and go and have lunch somewhere nice. s to all...

It's amazing how entirely your being can be wrapped up in missing something that you took for granted a few days ago.

Never let it be said that Dell Support is anything other than wonderful.
A brand new GeForce is winging its way from Ireland to me by courier for tomorrow... ho ho ho.
Second monitor outage time minimal. New Graphics card. Everyone's happy.
(Except I lose one of my antistat bags in order to send the card back. Curses. )
