I'm off doing my rounds for a couple of days. If anyone has an urgent need to get in touch with me....... tough.

From the blurb on a box of CD-RWs...
"The CD-RW will last for at least 30 years."
How... do... they... know?

Four years...
Posted May 23, 2003
It's amazing to think I've been on h2g2 for four years now. When I first came here, all there was was a mad bloke ranting about how stupid his work colleagues were. And it was me. And I'm still here.

The magic cactus said "Yes, it's a good idea." Who am I to argue?

The Never Ending Story
Posted Apr 28, 2003
Those of you who hang around my journal may recall the story of ChasCo and DaveCorp, and how ChasCo told DaveCorp they weren't going to process their silly credit cards anymore and they could go and play with the traffic.
Well, this left DaveCorp with a problem. Credit cards don't just process themselves. DaveCorp would have to put together some kind of new contract and allow other companies to bid for it.
But who would be stupid enough to offer to do DaveCorp's dirty work?
Step forward, ChasCo. They've only bid for the new contract! It's like telling your wife you want a divorce, waiting until divorce proceedings have started, and then saying to her, "I hear you're going to be single soon, will you marry me?"
I guess I'll never understand big business.
