These Are A Few Of My Favorite Happy Things...

...things I like to think about when I've nothing else to... think about. smiley - smiley

* My cat curled up on my lap, using his cute little paw to peck at the keyboard while I'm trying to type something important.

* Re-reading a really good Kurt Vonnegut book for the kajillionth time.

* At Home dry-cleaning systems.

* Meryn Cadell's "The Sweater" song.

* Rainy, cloudy, cold days.

* Sleeping in under a huge pile of blankets.

* Hearing a really good Beatles song on the radio.

* One-liter Coca-Colas.

* Reduced-Fat Oreos (heh heh).

* Christmas commercials on tv two months early.

* George Harrison.

* Old bookstore smells.

* Downloading sound card drivers that actually work.

Each of these deserves it's own, very special smiley face. smiley - smiley

Guess who smells like a cheeseburger??

Me!! Me!! I do, I do!

Training is over, *whew*, my extra long-ass workdays are finally at an end. All the silly little tests I stayed up all night to study...I'll miss it, really...

Time to make some money now!! Moolahliscious!!

I'm beat though. These day shifts bite my behind, so now I think I might doze for...a day...or two. But not before I spend a few more hours at the computer.

*smooches the monitor* Ahhh, my computer! I've missed you so! They don't understand me, but I know you do. We'll run away together! My beautiful ice cream bar, I mean, computer! That's right. smiley - winkeye

My First Week Of School...I Mean, Work. Right.

(hehehehehe! All the little smilies have turned into vampire heads! LOL!)

Five straight years of no school and restaurant work will turn your brains to toothpaste quicker than you can say AquaFresh (mmmm....minty!), so I was nearly relieved when they handed me the big honkin' folder of stuff to study for this new job. Four days and six tests later (on about 16 hours of sleep total)...my outlook is changing just a little...

I suppose it's a good thing to know what you're doing, but the question remains - Is it *that* hard to screw up a hamburger?!? No, I think not.

Cool things about this location - We have in our memoribilia collection NOT ONLY the suit Tattoo wore on Fantasy Island AND the original Bridge (control panel, not suspension) from the original Star Trek series, but also Skeletor's outfit from that...He Man...movie. Cool, huh?

Must go now...study...more....mmmmmmm.....

After a mere delay....I'm BACK!!!

YAY!! And it's good to be back online. So, for those of you whom I haven't been able to contact, or for the sheer heady delight I get from a new journal entry, here's the slightly condenced version of where I've been, what I've been doing, and why I disappeared in the first place and how I got back home safely...

First off, most of you know that I was practically living with my boyfriend Mike. Mike and I split up, for the best I believe, and we will remain friends. But since I was using his comupter while we were together, breaking up with him left me high and dry as far as an internet connection was concerned. Which is why I was gone for a while.

During that time I did a deep, dark analysis of my soul and realized that I didn't really want to move back home in order to go back to school. I mean, I love Oklahoma and all but have you ever taken a look at non-resident's fees?!? Dear bob. Anyhoo, I had a little chat with my grandfather and he agreed to give me my trust fund even though I'm staying in St. Louis. This is really good. I feel like I've have a little bit of control back in my life. smiley - smiley So I should be back in school at the start of next semester.

AND, to boot, I ran out and bought myself my VERY OWN COMPUTER!!! Yay me!! Sorry, but I've never had one of my own, and I've been dreaming of having a really good comupter for ages. Indulge me. smiley - winkeye

Also, I have had a job change! Whew! I'll be starting at Planet Hollywood on Tuesday the 26th. (I think. I've lost all track of time.) It'll be a good job to have through school.

Misc. items: My roommate and I were held up at gunpoint and robbed of $100 outside our apartment. It was really crazy and it all happened very fast. If anything, it taught me that stuff like that can happen at anytime, anywhere - so all you guys be careful, ok?!?

The They Might Be Giants concert on the 11th was a blast! I had the privilege of meeting and speaking with John Flansburgh, the guitarist from the Giants. A "transcript" of this "interview" will be available shortly. smiley - winkeye

Finally, I'd just like to let all of you know how very much I've missed you and all of the DNA sites. Next time, I'll send you guys postcards or something. smiley - smiley
