WS! You should know as well as I do, that going anywhere with Sue almost always guarantees an adventure
I am almost packed and himself has got as far as compiling his list. (no surprise there then) Sue! are you sure it is Caldy island that you want to visit and not Lundy? Not that it matters, I just wondered.
Hope the weather improves for us. No1 Daughter is currently on her way to Devon for the week-end and it is not looking promising yet.
See you girls later.

Hi both, Scorp,it is Caldey Island that looks interesting
http://www.caldey-island.co.uk/ Weather permitting, there are trips from Tenby daily. Most land, some do a tour round the island to do seal spotting.
I went to my daughters today to find her most upset. She was the car behind another who ran over a cyclist. All she saw was the awful sight of a man appearing from underneath the car in front. She had the children in the car, luckily they were busy playing a game on Ethans i.player and saw nothing gruesome. Ethan called the emergency services while Sarah tried to stop the man coming to any more harm, they were on a busy dual carriageway in the evening rush hour. The ambulance came very quickly and then Harry was beside himself with excitement as the air ambulance landed right by their car and took the casualty away, obviously,Harry did not understand the severity of the situation. All he could talk about today was that a helicopter nearly landed on their car and took them away The toughest thing for Sarah is,she is doing a sponsored thing for the Macmillan Trust called 'Sober for October' This means no alcohol must pass her lips for the whole of this month, poor thing, all she wanted when she eventually got home was a but she had to settle for a cup of tea The police came round her house to take a statement and she did not get to bed until 2am. They did tell her,the chap on the bike was in a serious but stable condition.
Scorp,as for your daughter's trip,the weather down here,is lovely,if a bit windy,this afternoon was actually HOT!

Hi Both, the forecast for the weekend doesn't look to bad at all or the beginning of next week. Today has been sunshine and showers, but the sunshine was warm enough to bring out a host of midges in the garden. So glad i wasn't out there!
Sue, what an awful thing for your daughter to have to deal with. So glad the youngsters were pre-occupied, and the helicopter was just something exciting. Hope the man recovers ok.

Well, another shift over four more to go.
Tomorrow, I am stopping of after work at Jacobs house, his son(my grandson Daniel) is bringing his own son to visit. Although I have seen pictures of him, l have not yet seen him in the flesh. More pictures for the family album then.
Ethan, number 2 grandson has just returned from a school trip. He has spent the last few nights at Cranborne House being a viking He was not impressed. No electric gadgets, wooden slats to sleep on and he said the food was awful. He was also certain that considering the scant diet, they wouldn't have had the strength to go raping and pillaging. He did add, it made him appreciate all the wonderful things he did have.

scorp Posted Oct 6, 2013
Speaking of raping and pillaging! Sue - you no doubt know that I often go wandering around at stupid o'clock. SS recently told me that I was mad; but in reality, I was more likely to be murdered than raped! I am not sure if that was a compliment or an insult!!

Scorp, i suggest that SS. adds to his endless lists.... I must not use heavy sarcasm when addressing my wife, thus saving me a thick ear.
Today was one of Jacobs usual cock ups. I raced through work managing to escape early and when i got to the house,it was deserted. The idiot forgot i was coming and took his son and grandson off to the beach As i was dressed in my clowns outfit,ie. gear,i did not join them and anyway, they were just about to pack up and return to Portsmouth Never mind, they are coming down again next month and so long as i don't leave any arrangements to Jacob,we should meet up.
I have now started to pack a couple of things,no doubt i will unpack it all and re pack several times before next Sunday
Just three more shifts before i can stop worrying about work and start having a bit of ME time, that is if i can remember who ME is.

Websailor Posted Oct 6, 2013
ME will no doubt surface as soon as you shed the shackles of work Sue. What a shame you missed the family. Honestly men can be the limit sometimes. Better luck next time.
I was watching Countryfile and the BBC wildlife calendar. Some lovely photos and you really should enter next year Sue. They had 55,000 entries How on earth do they pick twelve out of that lot
Scorp, I think SS is due for a thick ear too. Do you actually go out of the house at stupid o'clock? In which case I think I might be inclined to agree with him. I get restless nights, like last night, but I just read my book till it falls out of my hands. I wish I had better control of my brain, but it has a will of its own.
Take care both, keeping fingers crossed for the weather for you.

Hi WS just to let you know l arrived at Newport safely last night. I had a continual argument with the Sat Nag for most of the journey, it was just like having my mother back beside me I am just off to have some breakfast before setting off for Tenby where I will meet up with Scorp. and SS.

Hi WS! Back safe after a wonderful week with Sue. Will post some pics when I have come round and sobered up a bit more, my head is still spinning. We had a great time; which ended all too soon.

So glad you had a good time all of you. I have been a bit busy with the most fantastic birthday I think I have ever had, and at last my kitchen is about to become a reality instead of a dream!

Hi both I don't know what i am for,it has been nothing but a hassle since i returned home.
After a lovely holiday with Scorp. and SS my journey home was the journey through hell. Everything was hunky dory until i got to the other side of Bath then the heavens opened, thunder, lightning and floods. i could not see a thing and relied on the sat-nag to see me home. Big mistake, she had been as good as gold most of the way,but just as i should have been going down the Blanford road, she sent me the wrong way and i ended up in Salisbury, after giving me a conducted tour of the town, she then put me on the right road but it was flooded all the way home, nightmare. On Monday i was in recovery mode or re-hab as it is otherwise known Tuesday,i got all ready to unload the pictures i had taken, then i discovered the software package was missing Not to be deterred,i legged it off to the camera shop to order some more software and while i was about it,a card reader. I switched on the PC and nothing. Just as every year i put the Christmas lights away in good working order and take them out again the next year, only to find the gremlins have been working hard and the lights not working at all;the PC was fine when i went away, now it was kaput. My friendly PC repair man called round pronto,he always does,he knows a sucker when he sees one,ten minutes and £50 later, all was well So,rather than wait for the software,i decided to use the card reader and do you know what,it wouldn't fit the port because it is too close to the port where my mouse is plugged in. This is the moment when i either poured myself a drink or went out to buy a wireless mouse. The won and i gave up.
Today was back to work, but on my return, the software was on the doormat. I have only put up eight pictures so far,my favourites being the Atlantic Grey Seals, those eyes!

I will sort some more out soon,i hope your pictures turned out OK Scorp. look forward to seeing them
I wish i could say it is nice to be home, but isn't

Sue, I think it was something about today. My new microwave required a plug and fuse that doesn't exit apparently so floorboards and carpet had to come up (just as well I have carpet tiles!! The workmen got stuck in traffic and were late which wasn't a good start, then at lunchtime I required Internet and just could not get online for at least an hour!!
Sorry you had such awful weather to drive back in. It was a bit like that when we came back from Dorset last year. This year was fine.
Anyway, I will look at the photos when I get some respite, as I need to organise a space to sit. I have had to refuse visitors because there is no space to put feet let alone derrieres
I keep telling myself it will be fabulous when done but it is a long time coming!!
I would join you in a if I had one
Take care, *waves* to Scorp

Sue just a quick note to say I hope the storms are not too bad down your way. I see there are flood warnings for West Bay ec.

The storms did not cause much of a problem in Bournemouth,a few branches down in the garden,i think i slept through the worst of it.I believe some parts of Dorset copped it,but, Bournemouth seemed to get off pretty light,i think that being in a bay between Portland and the Needles does help sometimes. I hope all is well in your part of the world. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice but breezy,so i will be off out somewhere pleasant. We are more or less back to normal at work,so i should have more time to myself again.

Glad you are ok. The Midlands had some rain and a little flooding, and a stiff breeze but thankfully we missed the worst of it. I looked at neighbours gardens last night, and they had moved nothing. If the storm had hit us the flying missiles would have made it impossible to go outside.
Kitchen coming on well now just a minor problem and a few little jobs to do and I can start cooking again, and economically now It was worth waiting months for.

Hi both!
The weather here is pretty today but never mind.
Thanks for your e-mail WS. I had a lovely Birthday and SS took me out to lunch as you know.
The extra goodie which I wanted to share with you both was the double whammy of cakes. As usual three dozen 'witchy' cakes iced in green/blue and purple went like wildfire. At one point, two small children (all dressed up and looking 'the 'part') came up the drive, apparently alone, with Mum hiding behind the hedge. A girl of about 6 and a boy perhaps 5. When they had taken their cakes, the girl said "do you know how to make fairy cakes? My mummy says you cut the tops off; cut in half and stick them back in cream" At which point the little lad asked me if I knew how to make ladybird cakes; only to be told that ladybird cakes don't even exist!
Right! I do so love a challenge I told them to ask Mummy if they could come back on Friday and see if there were any ladybird cakes. Needless to say, Friday morning saw me busily making chocolate cup cakes; covering them in icing laced with cochineal and covered merrily with chocolate chips. Even I was quite impressed.
They duly returned in the evening and made off with three each and the little lad saying smugly "I told you so"

Oh that's lovely Scorp.
Just spent the weekend babysitting my granddaughter no less, over night too and it was fine. Building a lovely relationship with her now, she is nearly four
I am a bit worried as I haven't seen Bluesue around for a while. Been offline myself for a while but was surprised to find her missing when I got back.
Any news would be welcome.

It is good that you have such a close relationship with your Grand-Daughter - they are so precious and you have the added bonus of giving them back!
As far as I know, Bluesue is ok. I last had contact with her on Thursday; and she seemed ok. However, it is strange that she has not been on here isn't it? Will check it out.
Take care friend. x
