I love wildlife but I draw the line at the furry varmints as you will know from my badger thread. Haven't seen any for a while but I haven't got the camera out so maybe I have just missed them.
I do my best to avoid leaving anything tempting out for them and it annoys me that the badgers and foxes don't support my efforts
I will need the bed six months before you Sue but they will have to carry me out of here feet first before that happens.

Am currently in my favourite seat in the library as the computer has given up the ghost yet again; and the man who can, is on holiday.

Websailor Posted Apr 15, 2013
Oh, Scorp, how frustrating. Hope it gets sorted soon.
Struggling with new computer glasses so I am not staying on long tonight as I haven't adjusted to them yet

Hi both
Scorp,i will keep in touch by phone if 'Super Dongle' doesn't fix things before we go away. Why am i writing this if you cant read it?
Ws,i went to the opticians today to pick up my new glasses. How i have been managing for the last few months i have no idea. Everything is crystal clear now No wonder i have been getting lots of headaches I also have a pair of glasses just for the computer,i have had them a year now and can't do with out them, you will soon get used to yours,i hope.
The rat problem at work has been resolved by the gardener. Frank is no more, shot clean between the eyes. The pest control chap is also calling tomorrow as rats don't live by themselves and there are bound to be more of them somewhere
What about Broadchurch? They are keeping us hanging on until the bitter end, although i have an idea now.

Websailor Posted Apr 16, 2013
Glad the rat problem looks sorted, fingers crossed!
I am getting on better with my glasses this evening, except I couldn't get in to Yahoo, but I don't think that is the fault of the glasses!! Glad yours are ok.
Broadchurch is very absorbing but I don't think I have worked it out yet, there are so many suspects.
Watched Endeavour, and they said Digoxin came from Deadly Nightshade!! Honestly, it is supposed to be a programme for people with half a brain, yet even I knew they should have said from Foxgloves. Somebody isn't doing their homework.
*waves* to absent Scorp.

I also spotted that slip WS. and considering they seem to have turned the young Morse into Sherlock Holmes,i would have thought he would have spotted it too, after all,he noticed in one swift glance, that the abandoned bicycle belonged to a left handed vicar with tatty clothes
I have a day off tomorrow,i am taking Harry to Bournemouth Flying Club. He still has a fixation with planes,he also likes eating,so we will combine planes with lunch. After that,i am working almost all the way through until my holiday. The other is going on a course. They always seem to do this just before my hols. then i arrive totally cream crackered .
The weather has changed for the better,it was actually warm today with lovely sunshine

bluesue Posted Apr 19, 2013
It was a breezy day and sunny. I had a lovely time with Harry. He is completely fixated with planes to a point of madness! He must be the only person on the planet to get excited about a certain Irish airline and watches out for them landing and taking off. He was over the moon when one prepared for take off very close to us. When the engine revved up he was not so pleased and shouted " Is all this noise really necessary?" I took some pictures of the planes and altered one especially for Harry http://www.flickr.com/photos/sue980/8662204181/
Well.i must get on and get my stuff ready for the long slog ahead

Hi both!
Not only dropped by; but dropped in. I am teetering on working at the moment - although intermittently.
Sue! You really MUST get yourself one of those tee-shirts. They are a must for both of us. I'd just love one. In fact I am going to get one from somewhere.
1+1 now = soon

I had a lovely surprise at work today (makes a change)I looked at the tree where the woodpecker had made several holes last year to see if he had returned and found a Nuthatch was living in one of the holes.I say living, but i think it is nesting It made several trips backwards and forwards and when i went outside to investigate,it sat on a branch just above my head and gave off warning shrieks. I will take my camera to work and try to make time to get some pictures. Like before,i will set up the tripod and take the shots through the lounge window with the remote timer.
Nothing much else to report except i have made a vague and random attempt at packing,i shall have to pull my finger out

Websailor Posted Apr 22, 2013
You sound like me with packing Sue. Last year I was very late doing it. This year I aim to start early and cut down the clothing by two thirds - I always take far too much stuff. After all if I needed anything urgently I could get it down there!!
Good luck getting the nuthatch, I hope it is nesting and no just storing stuff, but if it is making warning noises then it certainly sounds as if something might be happening.
There is so little sign of any birds nesting here it is quite worrying. They usually come collecting numerous twigs from the Silverbirch and coconut fibre from the hanging baskets but I have seen nothing of that this year. I hope they are just delaying things as it has been so cold and there are few insects abroad.
My winter pansies have only just flowered, some daffs are out, and yesterday there were quite a few bumble bees buzzing round so perhaps all is not lost.

I am heartily sick of one particular bumble bee! He will insist on keep coming into the kitchen; and takes up residence in the herb pots in the window ledge. He is exceedingly partial to the parsley and has the loudest hum you have ever heard - it drives Harry mad trying to get to it and I have to take my life in my hands and stretch over it to open the window and shoo him out.

Well, that's it then, Broadchurch is over. I did work it out correctly last week. The give away for me was when Sgnt. Miller said to Pauline Quirks character, " I can't believe you did not know what was going on in your own house" I had an moment and thought ,that crass remark is going to come back and hit you in the face Mind you,i had no idea why Joe Miller would want to kill the boy and still think the reasoning was a bit There is talk of a second series,i can't think why,the beach at West Bay will be scattered with bodies by the time you get down here on holiday WS.
I have had no time today to do any photography at work,i have been run off my feet, the Nut hatch is definitely nesting,it is backwards and forwards all day with stuff, this is according to my birdwatching residents,at least it has given them an interest
I have moved to a new level in the packing stakes,i now have three things in my suitcase

I thought the same about her comment coming back to bite her. I thought it showed rather well how comparatively small misdemeanours such as he was carrying out can escalate to something much more serious. In trying to keep what he was doing quiet he got a murder charge instead of a lesser punishment.
I have been thinking recently how many of the old sayings like 'Truth Will Out' are coming bak to remind us how very right they were.
you have packed three things!! How marvellous, such progress My holiday is creeping up on me at a rate of knots so I must get myself in gear asap.
Glad the nuthatch is nesting. After a late start everything here is blooming and busting out all over after some welcome sunshine.
Take care,

I am very disappointed with the outcome of my Nuthatches. The Woodpecker came back and decided to excavate the hole again,so,the Nuthatches cleared off. They still come to the feeding station but are no longer bothering with the nesting
Only a couple of days to go and i will be off. I hope the weather is better than today, although sunny,we had a short sharp hailstorm, with really big lumps,i was getting the washing in and i can tell you, it hurt!
While on holiday this time,Scorp. and i will be able to keep in touch as i now have a laptop,so we will let you know what sort of nonsense we have been up to. Work tomorrow, then i am off. My suitcase is now packed, although i will probably unpack it again before i go. The weather is so changeable, i just don't know what to put in it

Morning WS!
I'm reasonably sure that Sue will not be popping in here this morning but just thought before we leave, that I would give you a bit of an up-date on Harry:
He started his holiday yesterday; and SS told him that he was going to enjoy it . However, the joke turned out to be on SS. When we arrived at his holiday home, we were met by Gene (as in Pitney) the Husband of the cattery owner.
He keeps chickens and ducks and provides their eggs to a local hotel/restaurant. Having delivered some yesterday morning, the Chef asked him if Julie had any cats in this week-end and he said yes. Yippeeeee!! He was shown into the kitchen, where said Chef had just filleted a very large salmon. You've guessed it! all the remaining pieces were then cut up and handed over to Gene. He told us that Harry would be getting fresh salmon for his tea! Spoiled or what?
We are hoping to leave home around 9:00am and plan to call in at Weston Super Mare on the way down for some fish and chips on the sea-front; meeting up with Sue around tea time.
'See you next week-end.

Hope you have a good trip and the weather improves, it is very cold here just when I have turned my heating off
Take care, regards to all,
