Thanks Scorp. Glad you are back safe Sue, even if not feeling great. My son came to see me for Mothers Day and I have spent most of it in bed with a migraine Did manage to spend yesterday evening with him ok.
Feel like a wet rag so I am not staying on long tonight. I hope you all feel better soon, I am hoping to give the lurgy a miss.
Take care,
Websailor

Well home i am,full of flu it can't be the same flu as SS got 'cos that was man flu and as he put it,he could not have given it to me but whatever it is ,i feel like a sack of
The journey home was trouble free apart from the freezing fog and sleet at Scorpios end and the amazing potholes on the road near Oxford, pot holes i can live with, this was more like subsidence,i laughingly noticed they were closing that road for a fortnight the day after i traveled through it. It is now snowing here, not much to be bothered about, but, unusual. The daffs and other bulbs are showing a brave front as are the primroses and violets. I will put some pictures up shortly

Love that one - I remember it well. Please bear in mind that I did tell the strangers they would have to collect the wood for the fire.
Hope you got the e-mail about Exmoor.
Oh and by the way, I didn't realise that my talents with the washing machine were so good, that you would want your stuff done twice! I will return the shirt when we meet in Devon - it had fallen off the end of your bed.

Hi to you both. I have been feeling so rough i haven't even bothered to turn the PC on and when i did,it didn't work. I have now managed to sort it out,it was a case of sleeping on cables syndrome. I have been to work, but it was very hard because all i wanted to do was go back to bed and die. My boss at work was as sick as myself and she and i had coughing competitions. We also had a Barry White sing off as both our voices seemed to have dropped a couple of octaves
Thanks for the email Scorp. I have had a good look round the site and it all looks good to me
I have put a few more pictures up,some of them are untitled as i could not remember the name of the Byron family home. I thought it was Newstead Abbey, you will have to put me right on that one.
I have a busy week ahead, the other decided to take the week off as she is clapped out after covering for me
so next week,i will be in the same position

Oh, Sue, I hope you are feeling better soon. Work is tough enough when you are feeling ok, but dismal when you aren't.
Been babysitting again for a day so I am shattered keeping up with a three year old, but she was as good as gold so I can't complain. Suspect I will be doing it a fair bit till they have moved and settled in.

Hi both!
I have also had the Barry White syndrome; but thankfully am feeling much better now; the same cannot be said for SS who is still suffering.
You are right about Byron's place Sue.

Hi both My cold is receding a bit,i am still all blocked up but thankfully the head and joint aching has gone along with the stiff neck.
Scorp, yesterday,i made the lovely Peach Melba Cheesecake you gave me the recipe for. I decided to make it for work, but, i made it at home so i had time for the overnight chilling. I took the ingredients from work, foolishly,i did not remember to bring a mixing bowl . I do have mixing bowls but not one big enough to take a kilo of cream cheese amongst all the other things. I made a brave attempt to do it in my largest bowl.....then pebble dashed the kitchen with icing sugar, cheese and cream. It took me half an hour to make the cake and an hour and a half to clear up the mess
All that aside,it went down a storm both with the residents and the staff, the raspberry sauce really makes the final serving look fab.
I am off tomorrow, then back for the weekend,it has been a bit of a trial this week working whilst feeling rough.
I forgot to say thanks for the shirt,i wondered where it was
I hope you are having better weather where you both are than we are having here. It is wet and cold,so much for spring!
I know i have just had a holiday but i can't wait for the next one,not long now i have booked my room for the night as planned,we can all sing, Happy Birthday to me in Taunton and fall off our bar stools

Glad you are feeling a bit better Sue.
The weather has been nice but cold here today but the forecast for the next couple of days is

Hello, Hello!
You are right about the WS! It is all white and pretty here this morning - even Harry did not want to go for his constitutional; but finally decided that a cat has to do what a cat has to do
It didn't take him long; and we had the towel all ready and waiting when he came back (at a great rate of knots). He is currently having a minute on 'your' bed Sue, getting over the shock to his system. Oh and by the way, he seems to have found a lady friend. We saw her yesterday for the first time; the most gorgeous tortoiseshell queen you have ever seen.
Sue - glad the cheesecake was a success. I made a pear and banana crumble yesterday; which was quite delicious - I used your suggestion of oats in the crumble and it was so much nicer than the normal method.
The jenny wren was around again yesterday evening (6:30) singing in the apple tree, she then landed on the top of the box, jumped down to the perch and went inside.

Hi Both, we haven't had it as bad here as other places, just a couple of inches of covering, which keeps turning to sluch, but according to the forecast that could change tonight.
Take care both of you,

It's here and currently giving us that floaty cotton wool stuff in great abundance
Sue! Am going to send you an e-mail shortly about a small diversion which may interest you. Remember our conversation yesterday concerning the red deer in Devon? Well! I watched said programme and found it very interesting. I tried to search for the farm in the prog; but couldn't trace it. So! I did find the number through another source; and would you believe it, the farm is near Tiverton. Just how convenient is that for our journey on the Monday. I am going to suggest a visit on our way to Croyde.

bluesue Posted Mar 27, 2013
Great minds think alike Scorp. After the program i googled it and got the post code,so plum tart should take us straight there It did not say whether there was a farm shop, but,it will be worth a visit anyway. On the subject of food, i have just finished making my Easter cake for the residents tea party. http://www.flickr.com/photos/sue980/8594566501/
I was a bit disappointed in the crystallised flowers from the garden, the chocolate sort of bled through a bit. As most of the residents have bad eyesight i am hoping they won't notice . I now feel a bit sick as i could not resist licking the bowl of chocolate cream i made for the filling and coating
serves me right for being a pig
.
The weather here is still very cold but no snow. Easter looks to be a bit of a dead loss. Jacob informs me his hotel is fully booked I have no idea what the grockles intend to do with themselves, they could stand on the seafront and turn into icicles.

Sue, the cake looks yummy and very similar to one I did for Valentine's Day to share around.
I hope you are feeling better after indulging, it is fatal. I have managed to take three months to get through my Xmas chocolates, trying to ration them, but struggling not to pig out on them
Sorry to see Church Beach, Lyme Regis and Kimmeridge Bay didn't come up to standard with the Marine Conservation Society Water Quality tests. Down to the grockles no doubt

Hi both. WS I think the beaches did not come up to scratch because of the continuous heavy rain. This has washed all sorts of unmentionables into the sea from sewage overspills etc. It is a shame about Kimmeridge,my son and his wife go kayaking and surfing there, well, they did,but it is not a good idea at present or in the near future.I am more concerned about the marine life,it is fragile enough as it is.
Crikey! it is cold here,we may have no snow, but the car was all iced up this morning.I put the heater on full blast, went indoors and had a cup of coffee,a fag, cleaned my teeth and after all that the car still had not defrosted!
The usual muck up at work today, apart from the dishwasher being on the blink, the Still decided to belch out boiling steam like the Yellowstone Geyser,i thought it was about to blow up As this was going on Scorp. rang me to say the hotel i had booked and where we are supposed to be meeting up had never heard of me
The first problem i solved by turning the Still off and leaving the kitchen sharpish, the hotel problem i solved by ringing them up and quoting the booking number they had texted to me when i booked up.
I have a busy Easter weekend in front of me,then,a few days off.The weather is supposed to be improving after Easter,so i may even get out and about again.

Websailor Posted Mar 28, 2013
Still ? Lots of illicit whiskey in the making then? ...
It is a shame about the beaches, as we always commented now clean the beaches, and indeed Dorset itself is.
It is still bitterly cold here and the snow is lying in all sorts of odd places. The Easter weekend sounds as if it will be more of the same, but thankfully no more snow, I hope.
I haven't been out for two weeks and haven't minded a bit, but I must take care it doesn't become a habit
Not sure what Easter weekend holds for me yet.
Enjoy both of you *waves*
