Very, very, bored.

I'm Baaaaack!

Well, it's been almost a month since my last journal, and it seems like it's been even longer. My modem stopped working for a few weeks but I finally got it fixed. So where do I start?

All those negative feelings I was talking about earlier disappeared before commencement. I am no longer moody or depressed and I was very excited to graduate. Commencement was June 8, and it was very nice. Ever since then I've pretty much been living from party to party. Mine was the 16th. It was fun, and I got to see so many people who are important to me, some maybe for the last time. Tommorrow is the last grad party I'm going to. I'm going to miss seeing everyone together but everything has to end some time, so I might as well look forward to the future. I got my dorm info a couple weeks ago. I know what my address and phone number will be, and I know the name of my roomate. We haven't called each other yet, so I'm anxious to see what he's like. 2 months and 2 days till I move to Kent. Meanwhile I'm just going to relax and enjoy the last summer before college.

What the Hell's wrong with me?

The year was 1992. Microsoft was beginning to become a household name, the world of rock music was paying tribute to their fallen comrade Freddie Mercury, and I was a 10 year old boy sitting in detention and wishing I was out of school. Cut to present. Today was my last full day of school, and Friday is the last day I go at all. Graduation is next week. I'm finally acheiving the dreams of my childhood. So why am I moody, paranoid, and semi-depressed? I certainly don't want to stay in high school, but I don't want to move on either. I've always had a hard time adapting to change, and this is one of the biggest changes I'll ever face. It's probably for the better, and yet I'm stressing about it all the same. Not over whether I will succeed, that has been pushed to the back of my mind. It's just, I dunno how to explain it. To retierate the title, what the Hell is wrong with me?

Success!

I think it's safe to say that the HVS is quickly becoming a real success. We've only been in Peta's Picks for 2 days and already we have 13 members (not including myself). And they are very active as well, prompting coversations, suggesting ideas, they're awesome. As you can tell, I am very pleased about this.

Tomorrow I am going with my best friend to when he buys his first car. It is an old 77 Mustang, and it needs some work, but it runs fine, and it's only $900! I thought it was a good deal when his brother bought a 95 Pontiac for 8 grand, this is just unbelievable. So I hope for his sake that it is not too good to be true. I forgot to mention earlier that my Dante Alighieri article recently reached official status, earning a picture. It made it through relatively unscathed, as opposed to my first approved article, which was butchered almost beyond recognition. So I was and still am very pleased about that as well. Things are going pretty well for me, at least online. I hope they go as well in my "real" life. I am anxiously awaiting word from Uncle Sam (not my grandma's nintendo-addict brother in California, I'm talking about the guy in the stripy hat) about whether or not I will continue to recieve social security compensation for the loss of income from my father's death. I should be eligible to recieve it until I complete college or start earning over $840 a month, neither of which should be happening any time soon, but with our screwed up beauracracy, you just never know, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. T minus 22 days until commencement, and only 11 more actual school days! *blasts "I Want to Break Free" on boombox, with "School's Out" on standby*

Stuff

I've noticed a recent decline in the creativity of my titles. At least I can't sink any lower than this. (knock on wood). Ok here's what's going down in Z-World:

Prom: Friday May 5 was Campbell's prom. My date was Bobbie Trgovac, who just joined h2g2 ( http://www.h2g2.com/U118840 ). We met in the parkinglot of a local church, where we took pictures by the limo. Actually our families took the most pictures. Some members of our party were late, and they just kept taking pictures until they finally got there. Our driver seemed like he was missing a few cards. He started heading for a bridge that everyone but him knew was closed, and we had to redirect him. As a result we ended up making a detour through the ghetto, and I started wondering whether the windows were bulletproof. We finally arrived at the hall where our prom was. After we voted for king and queen, the school janitor (sans broom and bucket) took the official picture, and we proceeded to say hi to everyone and generally look glamorous. Well, at the time I thought I looked glamorous, but I probably just looked silly. Next up was chow time, but I wasn't hungry (for once) so I just drank the punch. Finally it was time to hit the dance floor. I can dance about as well as Jabba the Hut, but I gave it a shot anyway. The highlight of the dance was when our Government teacher went out there during a fast dance and went nuts. Then there was the wedding incident. I forget when I first heard about it, but there was a wedding reception in another part of the hall, and some kids snuck in. Most of them settled for sampling cookies, but one guy took it a step further, catching the garter, putting it on the lady's leg, and taking pictures with the wedding party. Well, it turned out the bride was the niece of the guy who owned the place, and to make a long story short, Campbell's going to have to find a new place to host their prom next year. After the king and queen were announced we left the prom. We had the limo take us to the Olive Garden where once again I didn't eat. Well, I did have a breadstick, but now I wish I hadn't, cause it was pretty nasty. After we left the restraunt everyone pretty much wen't their seperate ways. I wanted to go to a party so they dropped me off at the house of the guy who was supposed to be hosting it. As a matter of fact he was the king of prom, due in part to telling people to vote for him if they want to go to his party. But when I arrived there was no party. His Majesty was nowhere to be seen. We found out that his mom wouldn't let him have it, and for a while it looked like there wouldn't be a party after all. But I got a ride with somebody and we went party hunting, and after a while everyone had regrouped at another guy's house. The night was saved. Now I can't go into too much detail about the party, but I'll give you an example: at one point I was singing a duet of We Are the Champions with another guy, making guitar noises and everything, until the cord from my camera hung out of my inside pocket and I thought my tux was coming apart, so I guess you can figure out what kind of party it was. smiley - winkeye All in all a great night, and even the bad parts are cherished memories now.

In other news: The song I was talking about earlier, "Be With You" by Enrique Iglesias, I dunno if it's subliminal messages or what, but every time I hear it, I go into a trance. Somebody told me I looked like I was stoned. It's so weird. And one time I had to turn it off in the middle, and for the next hour or so I felt and acted just like I was drunk. I know this sounds ridiculous, but it's all true.

H2G2 Vegetarian Society: It's going slower than I had hoped for, but I've finally got a few members, and now I'm waiting for Peta to put it on the front page as a pick. That should generate some publicity. We've got a long way to go before I can call it a success, but I think we're going to make it.

Other than that, I'm just keeping an ear out for that graduation song. Only 3 more weeks of school!
