Somehow, I don't know why, I have never had any computer viruses (that I'm aware of) infect any computer I've owned or used at work. I have had a few bits of spyware (Real audio, I'm looking at you 
) and who knows what trojans are running undetected (NSA, I'm looking at you ). But I've never had some virus infect and damage my computers. I try to be careful but I'm not that careful. Just lucky so far.
My Dad however has had some viruses and he also almost lost everything from one of those folks "calling from MicroSoft" saying they can tell he has a virus remotely. He's not careful and his desktop is cluttered in icons and random mystery tool bars.
