Field Researcher/Subeditor Orinoco
I think that deep down, I've been trying to build a real Guide for most of my life. Maybe it's the name. I mean, everyone would like a guide to help them through this strange and confusing world. Or maybe it's the fact that the big friendly letters on the cover really are the best advice that you can get.
h2g2 is exactly like a swan. Stately and calm on the surface, with a lot of frantic paddling underneath. (I'm a subeditor. I know these things.1) Things are really happenning behind the scenes. There's a lot of energy and community, and sometimes some good writing too. :-) The future looks bright.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
