Who I share things with

That is, I think, what is most important. Not the how or what or where or why but the who. As a shy introvert it is particularly depressing to know that that most difficult nerve-wracking of tasks, the act of cultivating a relationship with another person, is that which brings the most happiness. But there's no denying it.

It's there in everything. I was watching the Oscars earlier. And my mind drifted to what it would be like to accept one. And the thoughts were not of what category or when or how (or how unlikely a scenario even) but who would be there to share the moment. If there was no particular special person, then the whole thing would hold little meaning for me.

And so it goes with most things in life, even the normal mundane ones.

The meaning is in the "who", the people around.

You know...

I just read my lovely quote up there from Lao Tzu for the umpteenth time, and it occurs to me that I'm probably by that definition not that good of a traveler, at least sometimes. I mean, there have been a few things to which I've been pretty intent upon arriving. smiley - winkeye

I wonder what I'm doing wrong

I must be doing something wrong. It's obvious from the history of things. Up to a point it's right and then it's not. If I don't figure out what I'm doing wrong or not doing then I'm never going to have what I want.

Finally!

That little sub-editor badge on the right side of my page just might begin to mean something now. Whee! smiley - winkeye
